Join our dynamic Macro Research group, a core component of QIS's success, driving innovation in macro, risk premia, and trend-following strategies across global liquid markets. We develop and manage sophisticated models applied to a diverse range of portfolios, from market-neutral hedge funds to long-only institutional mandates and low-volatility mutual funds. Our team thrives on intellectual curiosity, collaboration, and a passion for translating cutting-edge research into tangible investment results.
As a Quantitative Researcher, you will be an integral part of our team, directly contributing to the evolution and enhancement of our proprietary global macro investment strategies. This role offers a unique opportunity to work alongside experienced researchers, portfolio managers, risk managers, and traders, impacting all stages of the investment process. Key Responsibilities:
- Drive Innovation: Conduct in-depth research and quantitative analysis to refine and improve existing investment strategies, collaborating closely with our research team.
- Uncover Predictive Insights: Leverage statistical and economic techniques, employing both traditional financial data and alternative datasets, to discover novel return-predictive signals.
- Optimize Strategy Implementation: Conduct research on crucial aspects of investment strategy implementation, including trading cost models, risk models, optimization techniques, and portfolio construction methodologies.
- Enhance Research Capabilities: Develop and implement new features within our proprietary research system to facilitate the exploration of innovative research ideas.
- Contribute to Platform Development: Collaborate with technologists and strategists to develop, enhance, and maintain our state-of-the-art research and portfolio management platform, encompassing strategy back-testing, performance monitoring, and comprehensive risk analysis.
- Communicate Research Findings: Prepare and deliver insightful analysis and research presentations for senior business leaders and portfolio management team members.
Qualifications:
We are seeking a highly motivated and intellectually curious individual with a strong foundation in quantitative finance and a passion for global macro investing.
- Essential Skills:
- Solid understanding of statistics, econometrics, and financial markets.
- Proficiency in working with large and complex datasets.
- Strong programming skills (e.g., Python, R, MATLAB).
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to rigorous research.
- Desired Attributes:
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with time series analysis, machine learning, or other advanced quantitative techniques is a plus.

Salary Range
The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $100000-$170000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
