We are seeking an exceptional Vice President of Data to lead and scale our Data organization. This role is crucial in our mission, driving data strategy, infrastructure, and insights that fuel growth, innovation, and business impact. Reporting directly to the COO, you will be responsible for defining and executing a transformative data vision that turns information into strategic advantage.

This is an opportunity to build and lead a world-class data team, integrating Data Science, BI, Analytics and Data Engineering, into a unified function that enhances decision-making across the company.

Key Responsibilities

Data Strategy & Leadership

• Define and execute a bold and cohesive data strategy, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
• Shape and unify the Data Science, Analytics and Data Engineering teams into a high-impact data organization.
• Lead data-driven decision-making across the organization, ensuring insights inform product development, go-to-market strategies, user experience, forecasting, and operations.
• Build advanced analytics and reporting capabilities that do more than present data—they tell compelling, actionable stories that drive strategic decisions.
• Champion a data-first culture, ensuring key stakeholders across Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Operations have the insights they need to make informed and impactful decisions.

Data Engineering & Infrastructure

• Architect and oversee a scalable data ecosystem, ensuring infrastructure is optimized for real-time analytics, predictive insights, and product innovation.
• Establish best-in-class data governance, ensuring data quality, security, compliance, and accessibility while enabling fast decision-making.

Team Leadership & Growth

• Lead, scale, and mentor a high-performing data team of 15+ professionals, fostering talent development and inspiring future leaders.
• Influence executive leadership and board-level discussions by translating complex data insights into clear, strategic recommendations.

Requirements

Experience & Leadership

• 15+ years of experience in data leadership roles, with at least 5 years leading and scaling data teams at a senior level.
• A track record of building and transforming data organizations in high-growth, fast-paced environments.

Technical Expertise

• Deep expertise in data science, analytics, data engineering, and AI/ML applications.
• Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, R, BigQuery, Snowflake, dbt, and modern cloud data platforms (e.g., GCP, AWS, Azure).
• Understanding of ETL pipelines, data modeling, and experimentation frameworks to optimize insights and efficiency.

Strategic Thinking & Business Acumen

• Ability to translate data into strategy, influencing executive decisions with clear, compelling insights.
• Exceptional communicator, able to distill complex data insights into clear, actionable recommendations for executives and stakeholders.
• A strong advocate for cross-functional alignment, ensuring data is embedded into the company’s DNA.
