Quantitative Internship ALM Model Development (NMD focus)

ING is looking for a motivated individual to assist with the development and implementation of asset-liability management (ALM) models. As an intern, you'll work closely with our ALM team to support the development of financial projections and scenarios for various non-maturing deposit (NMD) products.

Roles and responsibilities

  • Work on developing and maintaining ALM models for NMDs, including data input, model calibration, and scenario analysis.
  • Collaborate with the NMD team to develop behavioural models for NMDs that capture customer deposit behaviour over time.
  • Conduct sensitivity analysis and stress testing of the ALM models to assess the impact of various risk factors on the financial projections.
  • Analyze the results with both the ALM and NMD teams to identify potential areas of risk or opportunity.
  • Help prepare presentations and reports for internal stakeholders.

Who are you?

  • Currently in the final year of pursuing a degree in Econometrics, Quantitative Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science or a related field
  • Available for at least 6 months, starting in Sep 25
  • Studying at a Dutch University (non-EU citizens from non-Dutch Universities cannot join due to Visa restrictions)
  • Familiar with financial modelling techniques
  • Proficient in coding, preferably Python
  • Excellent in written and verbal communication skills
