Job Description

About This Role

The Research Statistics Group is looking for a principal biostatistician candidate with PhD in biostatistics or equivalent. The core responsibility of the group is to bring innovative statistical and data analytical solutions to R&D and manufacturing to enable high quality data-driven business decisions. Successful candidate should have the ability to apply advanced statistical methodologies and ML/AI technologies to bring innovations to help improve business efficiencies and increase probability of success for our portfolio and across all our business areas. The role will report to the head of Research Statistics group, a part of the Biostatistics organization.

What You’ll Do

  • Methodology and capability development using statistical and ML/AI techniques
  • Partner with the biomarker team to enable data-driven decision in clinical development
  • Provide statistical expertise and leadership in our research organization
  • Carry out fundamental statistical trainings across the research organization
  • Collaborate with data analytical communities within Biogen to bring innovations across the business

Who You Are

The ideal candidate should be passionate about learning and applying advanced statistical methodologies including ML and AI technologies to bring innovative solutions. Excellent communication skill is essential.

Qualifications

Required Skills

  • PhD in biostatistics or equivalent
  • Proficient in programming languages such as R and Python
  • Great communication skills, especially the ability to effectively communicate with different audiences
  • Ability to quickly understand key business needs for each problem
  • Strong collaboration skills with different disciplines and the ability to translate business needs to statistical and data analytical solutions
  • Eager to embrace and ability to learn fast on new technologies/areas

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in cross-functional collaboration is preferred
  • Experience in effectively communicating with collaborators and leaders is preferred

Additional Information

The base compensation range for this role is $119,000 - $160,000. Base salary offered is determined though an analytical approach utilizing a combination of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills & experience, job location, and internal equity.  Regular employees are eligible to receive both short term and long-term incentives, including cash bonus and equity incentive opportunities, designed to reward recent achievements and recognize your future potential based on individual, business unit and company performance.
