We are seeking a Field Operations Lead to scale a global field organization responsible for large-scale robotics data collection. This leadership role will oversee a distributed team across multiple geographies, ensuring operational excellence, data quality, and regulatory compliance. This role will drive strategy, optimize workflows, and establish the necessary infrastructure to support the company’s robotics initiatives at scale.

You Will:

  • Define and execute strategy for a global field operations organization supporting robotics data collection across multiple regions.

  • Oversee and scale a hybrid workforce, including a full-time team and a network of contractors responsible for field data collection.

  • Establish and optimize regional hubs in multiple US and international geographies to balance cost, efficiency, and quality.

  • Develop and enforce global compliance frameworks, ensuring adherence to regulatory, privacy, and safety standards.

  • Drive operational efficiency by implementing standardized workflows, automation tools, and process improvements.

  • Foster collaboration with engineering, product, and AI teams to align data collection with model development needs.

  • Monitor key performance metrics, including coverage, data quality, operational uptime, and compliance adherence, while continuously iterating on process improvements.

  • Oversee technology investments in hardware, software, and automation to enhance data collection capabilities.

You Have:

  • 8+ years of leadership experience in operations, robotics, logistics, or a related field.

  • Proven expertise in scaling field organizations, managing both full-time teams and contractor networks.

  • Experience with multi-site operations, including international field deployments.

  • Strong background in compliance, safety, and risk management in a complex operational environment.

  • Familiarity with robotics, autonomous systems, and AI-driven data collection workflows.

  • Strategic mindset with hands-on execution ability, balancing high-level planning with day-to-day operational needs.

  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills, able to work with engineering, product, and executive leadership teams.

  • Data-driven decision-making ability, leveraging metrics to drive continuous improvement.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with robotics testing, AV operations, or large-scale data collection programs.
  • Knowledge of automation, industrial sensor technologies, or fleet management.
  • Experience optimizing a global workforce with onshore and offshore operations.
  • Military experience.

Compensation packages at Scale for eligible roles include base salary, equity, and benefits. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position, determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, interview performance, and relevant education or training. Scale employees in eligible roles are also granted equity based compensation, subject to Board of Director approval.
