The Job at a Glance
We are seeking a talented and inquisitive Data Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will analyze complex datasets spanning clinical care, operations, finance, and engineering, focusing on generating actionable insights and developing clear operational dashboards. Your work will directly support data-driven decision-making across the company and contribute to improving care for patients with complex cardiopulmonary conditions. You'll work closely with clinicians, engineers, and operational staff within an environment committed to innovation – we actively engage in AI research and application and regularly publish our findings in peer-reviewed journals. This position offers a significant opportunity to apply your analytical skills to meaningful challenges in healthcare technology.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze complex patient data to uncover deep insights into treatment efficacy, patient journeys, and outcomes for polychronic conditions with a cardiopulmonary focus.
Develop, build, and maintain impactful operational dashboards that provide clear business insights for stakeholders across clinical, operational, product, and engineering teams.
Evaluate clinical operational data to identify opportunities for enhancing efficiency, resource allocation, and workflow optimization.
Assess engineering team performance and processes, providing data-driven recommendations to support continuous improvement and efficient technology delivery.
Collaborate closely with clinicians, engineers, product managers, and operational leads to define data requirements, translate needs into analytical solutions, and communicate findings effectively.
Design, implement, and manage data warehousing solutions to support robust, large-scale data analysis.
Work adeptly with both SQL and NoSQL databases, ensuring data integrity, scalability, and accessibility.
Leverage Python (including libraries like pandas) for sophisticated data manipulation, analysis, automation, and reporting.
Utilize cloud computing platforms effectively for handling and analyzing large datasets.
Champion data quality and consistency across various sources.
Stay current with healthcare data standards, particularly FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources), to promote interoperability.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, Business Analytics, or a related quantitative field.
Proven experience as a Data Analyst, preferably within healthcare, health tech, or a related field generating business insights.
Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with NoSQL databases.
Strong programming skills in Python, including experience with data analysis libraries like pandas.
Demonstrated experience creating informative and visually appealing dashboards using tools like Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar.
Solid understanding of business analytics principles and demonstrated ability to translate business questions into analytical frameworks and data solutions.
Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
Good grasp of data warehousing concepts and best practices.
Excellent analytical thinking and creative problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to present complex data clearly to diverse audiences (clinical, technical, business).
Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills
Knowledge of FHIR standards is highly desirable.
Familiarity with polychronic diseases, cardiopulmonary conditions, or respiratory care.
Experience applying AI and machine learning techniques to real-world problems.
Experience thriving in a startup or agile development environment.
Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in a relevant field.
