Overview

GovCIO is currently hiring a talented and experienced Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) Data Specialist/Analyst for the planning, design, engineering, maintenance, and analysis of geospatial data products. This role involves creating custom GIS solutions and supporting initiatives to meet specific project requirements. This position is fully remote, located in the United States.

 

Please note: The contract has been awarded; however, this position remains unfunded and is contingent upon funding release. 

Responsibilities

  • Direct geospatial analysis by collecting field data, identifying spatial relationships, and presenting results visually
  • Utilize GIS software and mapping tools to analyze and visualize geographic data, accurately plotting latitude and longitude coordinates for spatial analysis and decision-making
  • Lead GIS data entry operations, applying techniques like coordinate geometry, digitization, scanning, and vector conversion
  • Ensure and enforce uncompromising accuracy in field data documentation, supervising the maintenance of thorough records across paper and electronic formats
  • Lead seamless integration of spatial data into sophisticated geospatial software, guiding the optimization of conversion from hard copy and soft copy sources

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's with 12+ years (or commensurate experience)

Preferred Skills and Experience:

 

  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and use of Jira
  • Relevant certifications in GIS technologies (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate)

Clearance Required: Ability to obtain and maintain a suitability/Public Trust

Posted Pay Range

 

The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Posted Salary Range

USD $130,000.00 - USD $155,000.00 /Yr.
