Senior Data Engineer, Te Pae Tawhiti, Wellington

Te Pae Tawhiti – Our Future is about MSD’s future role and how we can make a bigger and better difference for New Zealanders. 
 
Te Pae Tawhiti Programme is a once in a generation, multi-year transformation, which aims to ensure MSD has the capability to serve New Zealanders now and for decades to come.  
 
Data Delivery plays a critical role in any transformation programme. Within the Data Management and Information Delivery Group we are key to ensuring the successful data migration activities are undertaken, with key principals such as data quality embedded.

 

Data delivery supports the Service Experience initiatives deliver this large and complex programme of work. We are in the process of starting to build our new systems, with an initial focus on enabling a digital employment service. The Senior Data Engineers will work alongside the existing Data Engineers and collaborate with IST and key stakeholders to ensure data migration activities are successfully completed in readiness for the digital employment service. 

 

 

 

You will need:
 
We are looking for experienced senior data engineers with experience in data migration, data quality and data profiling within complex transformation programmes.   
 
You’ll need the ability to see the big picture while also being comfortable diving into the detail. You’ll have strong relationship building skills and be comfortable working in fast paced environments. 
  
This is a once in a generation opportunity to change the way we deliver our services, and to have a significant impact on the lives of New Zealanders. 

 

 

 

We are looking for candidates who will bring:
 

•    Demonstrated experience analysing source data structures and target systems to plan migrations. 
•    Demonstrated experience with data extraction, transforms, and load (ETL) data using appropriate tools and scripts (which you will be expected to design).
•    Demonstrated experience producing detailed test scripts to support data migration. 
•    Strong collaborator who can connect with our IST teams, business analysts and business process designers. 
•    Troubleshoot migration issues and ensure the delivery of repeatable patterns.
•    Documents procedures, mappings, and workflows.
•    Strong SQL skills and familiarity with ETL tools, specifically Informatica.
•    Experience with Snowflake and Microsoft Azure
•    Experience with dimensional modelling concepts and design.

Salary range: $118,401.00 - $143,797.00
