***This is a hybrid role based in Lake County, IL***

Purpose

Associate Data Engineer would contribute to the architecture, design, and development of the fir for purpose Data & Analytics solution in a timely manner, under the direction of a more senior leader. Possess general understanding of software development and technology infrastructure with respect to data and analytics (Databases, Data integration, Data Warehousing, Data Analysis, Visualization Tools and MLOps)

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine tasks competently and independently and generate reliable and consistent results.
  • Learn and understand various data engineering and analytics activities, including data warehousing, master data management, data cataloging, system integration, data streaming, data visualization, data analysis, and data ops.
  • Learn and understand pharmaceutical R&D/Life Science centric datasets.
  • Produces and maintains required technical documentation associated with work products.
  • Learn and contribute to the architecture, design, development, and maintenance of large-scale data & analytics platforms, system integrations, data pipelines, data models & API integrations.
  • Understand and adhere to corporate standards regarding applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies, including code of conduct, safety, GxP compliance, data security, and the software development lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree plus 2 years of related experience
  • Must have experience with software development life cycle.
  • Must have experience with data analysis programming languages (e.g., SQL, Python & Apache Spark, SAS or R)
  • Experience working with MPP engine, Graph databases and search is preferred
