About You:

You are a talented professional looking for a career, not a job. Reporting to the Director, Financial Data Systems, you will be responsible for defining and maintaining Finance data architecture and data governance to support Finance’s operational processes and reporting and expand the use of data as a strategic enabler to drive business forward. This individual will build, test, and maintain tables and processes for the Finance Data team. You will participate in issue resolution for Finance processes through Database development, maintenance, continuous enhancements.

 

Responsibilities

  • Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases
  • Strong analytic skills related to working with unstructured datasets
  • Build processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency and workload management
  • Create and maintain optimal data pipeline (aka ETL) architecture, create reusable framework for timely data delivery
  • Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements
  • Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.
  • Support analytics tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into customer acquisition, operational efficiency and other key business performance metrics
  • Create data tools and platform for analytics team members that assist them in building and optimizing our product into an innovative industry leader
  • Work with data and analytics experts to strive for greater functionality in our data systems
  • A successful history of manipulating, processing and extracting value from large, disconnected datasets
  • Working knowledge of message queuing, stream processing, and highly scalable ‘big data’ data stores
  • Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment

 

Requirements

  • Must have least 5+ years of experience with relational SQL and NoSQL databases, including MS SQL, MySQL, etc.
  • 2+ years of experience:
  • with Snowflakes as a data engineer
  • in finance domain as a data engineer
  • with data pipeline and workflow management tools: Airflow, etc.
  • with object-oriented/object function scripting languages: Python
  • building and optimizing data/ ‘big data’ data pipelines, architectures and data sets
  • performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement
