Lucid is the future of sustainable mobility, designing electric cars that further reimagines the driving experience.As an Audio Architect, you will be responsible for designing and implementing complex audio systems that deliver immersive, high-fidelity experiences across multiple platforms. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including hardware and software engineers, to integrate cutting-edge audio technologies into our products. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of audio engineering, signal processing, and real-time audio systems, while driving innovation in both design and execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Audio System Design and Architecture:
Lead the creation and architecture of high-performance digital audio systems, driving both hardware and software development to deliver world-class audio experiences. - Leadership and Mentorship:
Lead and mentor a talented team of audio engineers, providing guidance on technical solutions, best practices, and design decisions. Inspire creativity and innovation, while ensuring the team meets project milestones and deadlines. - Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams:
Work closely with hardware engineers, product managers, and software development teams to seamlessly integrate audio systems into new and existing products. Collaborate to define technical requirements, solutions, and system integration strategies. - Innovation and Research:
Stay on top of the latest advancements in audio technologies, such as machine learning-based audio processing, spatial audio, and next-generation sound formats. Apply cutting-edge research to push the boundaries of user experience and product performance. - Optimization and Performance Tuning:
Focus on optimizing audio systems for performance in resource-constrained environments, ensuring high-fidelity output while maintaining optimal device performance. - Testing and Quality Assurance:
Develop comprehensive testing protocols, including unit tests, performance benchmarks, and subjective audio quality assessments. Ensure that all systems perform under real-world conditions and meet the highest standards for sound quality and reliability. - Documentation and Best Practices:
Create detailed documentation for the audio architecture, including design specifications, technical white papers, and coding standards. Establish and promote best practices within the audio engineering team and across the broader organization.
You Bring:
- Experience:
A minimum of 10+ years of experience in audio engineering, system architecture, or a related field, with significant experience in designing and developing advanced digital audio systems. - Technical Expertise:
A deep understanding of core audio principles, including signal processing, psychoacoustics, and acoustics. - Programming Skills:
Strong proficiency in programming languages such as C++, Python, or similar, with a focus on real-time audio processing systems. Experience with embedded audio systems, DSPs, or low-latency audio programming is highly desirable. - Problem-Solving:
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose complex technical issues and provide effective, high-quality solutions. A keen eye for optimizing system performance without sacrificing audio quality. - Leadership and Communication:
Proven leadership experience, including mentoring technical teams. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. - Passion for Audio:
A genuine passion for audio technology, music, and sound, with a keen interest in staying up-to-date on emerging trends in the industry.
Education:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Industry Experience:
Experience with automotive infotainment systems is a plus, as well as familiarity with the unique challenges of designing audio systems for such environments. - Advanced Skills:
Expertise in machine learning or artificial intelligence applications for audio processing.
