We are on lookout for multiple highly skilled Data Governance Analyst (Data Quality) to support the implementation and administration of the data governance framework across the bank by creating practical controls that reduce data risk, reporting on the success of data governance programs.
This role is offered as 12 months fixed term contract with possible extension or permanency.
Key Responsibilities:
Reporting to Leader, Data Governance, the Data Governance Analyst (Data Quality) supports the implementation and administration of the data governance framework across HPC by creating practical controls that reduce data risk, reporting on the success of data governance programs.
- Assist in supporting the development of the data governance program of work by:
- Assisting to develop and document new and existing data management standards, processes, and controls
- Assist in proactively engaging with business stakeholders to promote data governance
- Assist in proactively engaging with business stakeholders to promote data governance quality
- Data Quality issues root cause analysis and impact assessment
- Review and audit data to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal and external regulations
- Assist in data management, governance and data quality of master data requirements with data owners/stewards.
- Provide support of data management/governance initiatives, such as data cataloguing, data profiling, data quality assessment.
- Develop and implement data quality standards and processes.
• Engage with and support data owners, data custodians, data stewards and data users by:
- Promoting and explaining data quality issue management processes and best practices for metadata governance policies and procedures
- Actively identifying and escalating data-related issues and risks
- Document feedback and contribute practical and strategic solutions
- Support Data Stewards users in the creation and curation of data glossaries, data quality dashboards.
- Support to identify data-related issues and working with cross-functional teams to resolve them
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to develop metrics and dashboards for data quality.
- Report on data quality issues and present data quality metrics periodically.
- o Assisting Data Stewards with data quality management processes.
- Train and educate employees on data management and governance procedures
- Monitor and update data dictionaries and metadata to ensure data consistency
- Ensure the smooth running of the data governance framework by:
- Assist in providing the organisation with an understanding of critical data, where it is and the quality of the data, through the business glossary, data cataloguing and data quality assessments.
- Assisting to report on the progress of the initial rollout, including uptake, compliance, and effectiveness
- Assist in performing compliance checks
- Maintaining or administering data governance processes and/or procedures o Contributing to tactical decision making
• Proactively identify risks and recommend actions to avoid, mitigate or accept risks.
- Promote a sound risk culture by routinely analysing, avoiding, mitigating, or accepting risks.
• Meet your duty of care, ensuring that you take reasonable care for your and others’ health and safety; that all hazards, incidents, or injuries are reported immediately and that you actively contribute to Heritage and People’s Choice being able to maintain a physically and psychologically safe workplace for all.
About you
You are a passionate advocate for data governance and will assist the team to execute the data governance strategy building key stakeholder relationships and support the implementation of key initiatives.
Knowledge and Experience
- The ability to interrogate databases to understand the quality and meaning of the data (SQL or other tools).
- High level understanding of data management concepts
- Experience in Data Management and Data Quality tools.
- Some understanding of regulatory requirements related to data privacy, including but not limited to CPG235 and Australian Privacy Principals.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- An understanding of financial services operating environment and products (desirable)
