About the Role
Supply Chain Specialist is a pivotal part of the supply chain transformation team and with accountability over the ongoing maintenance and further improvement of the multi-million investment in Pets at Home’s supply chain and distribution network delivered via Relex (introduction of AI supply planning platform) & Spice (move to a single, purpose-build DC) projects.
Key areas of responsibilities:
- Act as Relex Super User and be the go-to person for internal & external queries related to the system, its operation, maintenance and improvement
- Using wider supply chain & planning knowledge guide colleagues on how to structure operating practices to maximise benefits for the company (on-shelf availability, stock-holding, OTIF, supplier collaboration)
- Provide daily monitoring (including weekend cover) as well as support during system failures to minimise disruption to DC and store colleagues.
- Be the trusted expert and guardian of processes within and those touching the supply chain function.
- Through training and monitoring, ensure adherence to the established standard and procedures. Create relevant documentation, training materials and deliver training to colleagues
- Liaise with Relex and internal functions (IT, PCAG) regarding periodical upgrades and further enhancements to the solution and data feeds
- Support other improvement initiatives covering people, processes and systems, all the way from evaluation, through delivery to ongoing maintenance

Experience and skills required:
- Shows practical understanding of logistics and supply chain operations and demonstrates appreciation for wider business complexities and interdependencies
- An ability to understand and document business processes and requirements
- Comfortable with numbers, statistics and technology
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain relationships across different levels of organisational hierarchy is a must
- Must be able to articulate trade-offs between various business decisions using industry knowledge, data & insights
- Analytical and problem-solving capability
- Good listening and interpersonal skills
- Strong communication, presentation skills and the ability to facilitate meetings and explain business problems and processes to a wide audience
- Results-driven with an ability to plan and self-organise to achieve objectives and targets
- Forward-thinking with a flexible approach to change and able to work effectively in a variety of situations, constantly seeking improvements.
- Knowledge of Relex or an equivalent supply chain planning solution
- Ability to handle data sources via SQL, Python or PowerQuery will be advantageous.
