Project Engineer (Data Management)

Cambuslang, Glasgow

Permanent, full time

Salary up to £55,000 per annum + excellent benefits package

What you’ll be doing

  • Responsible for the collation of Transmission Overhead Line (OHL) asset and reporting data.
  • Collect and collate asset data relating to Transmission Overhead Line assets to ensure a robust inventory and data available for reporting purposes.
  • Manage the Transmission Circuits Operations scorecard and collate all required data monthly.
  • Support the Senior Project Engineer in developing I&M programmes of work to ensure compliance with internal policies, statutory regulations
  • Support the Senior Project Engineer with regulatory reporting
  • Support the Senior Project Engineer to ensure the safe and timely delivery of the OHL I&M work programme incl. Inspections, Maintenance, Fault investigation/repair and Defect Management with both internal staff and external contractors
  • Responsible for the management and reporting of drone activities for the circuits team and fulfil function as drone co-ordinator.
  • Proactively manage interfaces with others (internal and external) to ensure effective time management and availability.
  • Continually maximise productivity through monitoring of work processes and output
  • Continuously strive to gain knowledge and experience in relevant areas of business procedures and system operation
  • Maintain strong working relationships with all departmental and contractor interfaces.
  • Comply with Company Health and Safety requirements to deliver a zero accident culture and promote good safety behaviours.
  • Check invoices against work plan, challenging contractor submissions and requesting invoice amendments
  • Focus on continuous improvement through quality processes
  • Participate in training/development activities and review effectiveness.

  • Working knowledge of Energy Networks policies, procedures and working practices.
  • Knowledge of network and business data and network management systems.
  • Working knowledge of health, safety and environmental legislation.
  • Excellent communication skills with individuals at all levels.
  • Ability to deliver objectives without compromising on safety, quality or customer service.
  • Effective decision maker, not inhibited by consultation with others when necessary.
  • General awareness of commercial & regulatory requirements.
  • Well-developed consultation and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to devise solutions to problems/challenges.
  • Working knowledge of SAP

Minimum Criteria

  • Electrical Engineering HNC and/or significant relevant industry experience in Transmission Overhead Lines discipline
  • Site Management Safety Training / Safety Passport
  • Sound knowledge of CDM and HSAWA regulations
  • Computer literacy – e.g. Microsoft Office suite
  • Advanced working knowledge of Excel
  • Full valid driving licence
