Job Description

Gims Data Base Administrator, Office of Data Governance, PN 20065685

What You Will Do: 

·        You will support ODOT’s Asset Management Program by maintaining and enhancing mobile and web mapping applications, enterprise geodatabases, map and feature services, Python scripts, and reporting tools. Provide customer support and troubleshooting assistance.

·        You will support ODOT’s Enterprise GIS Implementation by developing and maintaining feature classes, web mapping applications, and metadata. Assist users with GIS-related inquiries and ensure seamless integration across systems.

·        You will assist in Developing and Enforcing Enterprise GIS Standards for data management, tool development, map creation, and other GIS-related tasks to ensure consistency, accuracy, and efficiency across the organization.

Qualifications

4 yrs. trg. or 4 yrs. exp. in database & information management & data base systems & use of projections, coordinate systems & map algebra in operations of geographic information systems; 6 mos. trg. or 6 mos. exp. in employee training & development; 4 courses or 12 mos. exp. in budgeting,

-Or completion of undergraduate core program in computer science to include data structures, data base & information management & data base systems; 24 mos. trg. or 24 mos. exp. in use of projections, coordinate systems & map algebra in operations of geographic information systems; 6 mos. trg. or 6 mos. exp. in employee training & development; 4 courses or 12 mos. exp. in budgeting.

-Or Completion of graduate core program in computer science to include data structures, data base & information management & data base systems; 18 mos. trg. or 18 mos. exp. in use of projections, coordinate systems & map algebra in operations of geographic information systems; 6 mos. trg. or 6 mos. exp. in employee training & development; 4 courses or 12 mos. exp. in budgeting.

-Or 2 yrs. trg. or 2 yrs. exp. as GIMS Specialist 2, 85772.

-Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.

This position is overtime exempt based on FLSA Standards.

If this position is filled internally, the wage rate will be determined in accordance with the Ohio Revised Code.
