Get the latest stock market news, stock information & quotes, data analysis reports, as well as a general overview of the market landscape from Nasdaq.- The Economic Research (ER) team is focused on improving Nasdaq's insights of trading data and supporting a variety of initiatives, including regulatory reporting, customer analytics, and other research. The engineer will sit within the ER team but will collaborate with a variety of other teams across the product and technology functions.
- The Engineer will work closely with our ER team to build out advanced analytics in a variety of financial assets and markets. They will gain deep domain expertise in financial markets and leverage their technical skills to deliver data models in support of internal and external initiatives.
- This will require designing and developing data models to ensure data quality, consistency, and integrity throughout the data lifecycle. The engineer will design and implement ETL processes to integrate data from various sources and maintain documentation for the data models and ETL processes.
- This engineer will also be working closely with the platform engineering team on requirements and needs for data pipeline execution
- Must haves:
- Strong track record of working with dbt
- Strong experience with Spark
- Strong programming skills in languages such as Python or Java
- Strong data modeling experience (data vault, dimensional data, etc.)
- Familiarity with data governance tooling such as Monte Carlo, Atlan
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong understanding of data warehouse, relational and columnar databases like Redshift, Snowflake.
- Experience working with large data sets
- Nice to haves:
- Demonstrated experience working within AWS technologies (S3, Redshift, RDS, etc.)
- Experience with orchestration tooling (Airflow, Prefect, Dagster)
- Familiarity with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Kafka, Delta Lake, Iceberg, Arrow, Data Fusion).
- Familiarity with trading data
- Hands-on experience in creating dashboards
