This role offers a unique opportunity to apply data science expertise to one of the most advanced therapeutic pipelines in the world. As a key individual contributor, you will harness your analytical capabilities to enable confident, data-driven decision-making across Moderna’s clinical and development programs. With direct exposure to high-impact strategic decision points, you will translate complex scientific, clinical, and operational data into clear, actionable insights that drive portfolio success. From building dashboards to modeling outcomes with cutting-edge AI, your work will shape how Moderna prioritizes resources, accelerates development, and drives the greatest possible impact for patients globally.
Here’s What You’ll Do
Your key responsibilities will be:
Delivering high-quality analytics and insights that inform key decisions across clinical studies, development projects, and the overall mRNA portfolio
Partnering with cross-functional teams to integrate and interpret scientific, clinical, and operational data
Developing and sustaining portfolio-level dashboards, reports, and visualizations that enhance strategic planning
Creating and validating data models and forecasts using a range of tools from Excel to advanced AI technologies
Upholding accuracy, transparency, and quality in reporting logic, filters, and metrics
Your responsibilities will also include:
Facilitating meetings and workshops to gather requirements and tailor analytics strategies to portfolio needs
Supporting responsible data stewardship, quality management, and governance standards
Applying deep knowledge of drug development processes to contextualize analytical insights
Contributing to Moderna’s broader efforts in advancing a digital-first, insight-rich portfolio strategy
Engaging with emerging technologies including Generative AI to expand analytical capabilities and solution design

You will play a vital role in bringing automation, code-based solutions, and advanced analytics into portfolio planning, helping to streamline decisions that bring Moderna’s mRNA medicines to patients faster.
Here’s What You’ll Need (Basic Qualifications)
Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in life and/or computer science disciplines
5+ years of experience in data or analytics roles, preferably within biopharma or consulting/advisory services
Proficiency in data wrangling, modeling, and pipeline design
Experience managing and analyzing complex databases and using cloud computing solutions
Proficiency with visualization tools such as Tableau (Prep), Spotfire, and/or Shiny
Experience building scalable dashboards and reporting platforms
Hands-on experience with data governance and master data management
Proficiency in coding languages (e.g., Python, R, SQL)
Strong statistical and analytical skills, with proven ability to validate and ensure data accuracy
Experience supporting cross-functional, high-impact projects
Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table (Preferred Qualifications)
Proven ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions
Experience maintaining planning ecosystems (e.g., Smartsheet) and documenting infrastructure
Versatility in problem-solving using both EQ and IQ
Comfort working in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment with shifting priorities
Commitment to learning the scientific and technical foundations of mRNA technology and biotech development
Familiarity with change management practices, including training and communications
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey data insights to diverse audiences, including senior leadership
Collaborative mindset with a proactive, mission-driven approach to work
