The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Software Engineer (Associate or Experienced) to support the Strategic Deterrent Systems team located in Layton, UT. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense Services (BDS) business organization.

Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Associate and Experienced Level Software Engineers.

The Boeing Strategic Deterrent Systems software team is dedicated to developing and maintaining the software that powers Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles (ICBM) weapon system, playing a critical role in national defense. In this role, you will be responsible for the full software lifecycle development of software that supports the ICBM program, contributing to the design, implementation, testing, and maintenance of mission-critical systems. This is an exciting opportunity to work on products that have a direct impact on national security.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and design software solutions for ICBM systems.

  • Develop, test, and maintain high-quality software using programming languages including C/C++/C#, Python, Ada, and Fortran.

  • Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to software development best practices and standards.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and performance issues.

  • Document software designs, processes, and procedures to ensure clarity and compliance.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance software development processes and tools.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience): 

  • 2+ years of experience in software development

  • 2+ years of experience working in a team environment

  • Experience working in the full software development life cycle

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (including manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

  • Familiarity with hardware integration and testing processes is a plus

  • Experience with C, Ada, or Fortran programming languages

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Summary Pay Range for Associate level: $86,700 - $117,300
Summary Pay Range for Experienced level: $107,100 - $144,900
