About role

Platform Engineers are tasked with building, maintaining, and evolving the core infrastructure that underpins a wide range of software applications and services. They collaborate closely with software developers, data engineers, IT operations, and network teams to ensure the platform is robust, scalable, and high-performing. Their responsibilities include configuring and managing servers, databases, and networks, applying modern technologies, and following industry best practices. They also handle system monitoring, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to capacity planning, security assessments, and disaster recovery to ensure reliability. Staying current with industry trends is key to driving ongoing improvements. Success in this role requires strong problem-solving abilities, clear communication, and effective cross-functional collaboration.



Responsibilities

  • Architecture and execution of migration to GCP

  • Management of multi-platform environments

  • Working alongside Platform Engineers to assess and choose suitable technologies and tools for the project

  • R&D, maintenance, and monitoring of the platform's components

  • Implementing intricate data intake procedures

  • Constructing efficient data models

  • Implementing and executing policies aligned with the company's strategic plans concerning used technologies, work organization, etc.

  • Providing training and fostering knowledge-sharing

Requirements

  • Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python and SQL

  • Solid understanding and practical experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

  • Familiarity with the BigQuery data analytics platform

  • Hands-on experience with GKE and Docker

  • Background in software development with a strong grasp of engineering principles, best practices, and solution design

  • In-depth knowledge of DevOps methodologies and tools, including Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines

  • Proficient in version control systems, preferably Git

  • Experience in administering Linux, Unix, and Windows environments
