Description 

Monks is seeking an experienced and thoughtful hands-on Senior Designer that will help create exceptional design work for the world's highest-profile brands across a wide range of digital products, destinations and services. You have a deep love for design, its foundations and its principles.

What you’ll do

• Craft: Translate brand values, creative concepts, UX documentation and user–stories into ground-breaking visual & functional design solutions. Go above and beyond the original brief to push what’s possible on both a creative and technical level.
• Problem-Solve: Employ your problem-solving skills and full stack of design solutions to guide projects from start, finish and everywhere in between to ensure the highest quality of the delivery.
• Present: Present your work in person and through video calls to colleagues and clients, pitching new projects and proposals for production. Prototype your designs where needed to provide additional clarification. Shape and articulate convincing creative narratives and critical design rationale. Present with passion and vibrantly substantiate conceptual and applied work to internal and external stakeholders.
• Communicate: Provide written and verbal communication to articulate and strengthen your designs. Have opinions and not be afraid to voice them.
• Collaborate: Tackle high-end projects in collaboration with colleagues and clients alike.
• Contribute to process: Based on your experience and expertise, you can judge the quality of the user experience, and explain what needs to be achieved to make it better.
• Maintain Quality: Continuously enhance and push towards industry–leading execution, from concept through realisation.

What you’ll bring

• Experience: You prove your visual prowess through your online portfolio and relevant working experience of around 5 years across the field of digital and design (app, web and mobile). 
• Design: You're a great designer. Your eye for aesthetics has led you to solve significant design challenges through hands–on design work on a wide variety of digital design mediums, products, projects and campaigns.
• Passion: You’re passionate about great design and value work that is thoughtful, impactful, significant, and exciting. Your unwavering curiosity never stops you from learning and progressing. You love pushing the envelope both personally and professionally.
• Precision: You have a thorough understanding of design fundamentals such as typography, interaction design and usability, grid systems, white space, aspect ratios and colour theory. You skilfully tie design elements together with thorough attention to detail to support the overall design execution.
• Soft-skills: You are great to work with, as you have strong social and communication skills that ensure you understand how colleagues and clients work and think. You have a feel for the politics of advertising and the pitfalls of production. You understand that a combination of kudos and critique makes people want to go the extra mile.
• Hard-skills: Mastery of all modern design and prototyping tools (Adobe CS, Figma, Principle…) and a strong drive to master emerging AI tools (such as Firefly, Midjourney, and Stable Diffusion) is essential. You're tidy, and you know how to organize your files, layers, and folders to make the lives of colleagues easier

Balance: Mindful of your time, budget and schedule, you are flexible and willing to put in the time and dedication needed to make each project you work on a success.
