Student Worker (m/f/d) Data Science

Job Description

Would you like to take on a role where your ideas and input contributes to reveal energy optimization potentials with help of system simulation? For our Hamburg office, located directly in the Hafencity, we are looking for a Student Worker (m/f/d) Data Science to join our international Virtual System Solutions department. In this position, you will support the team in developing AI models for optimizing workflows as well as HVAC systems within the Virtual System Solutions team (ca. 20h/week).

Job Responsibilities

Your tasks in this role will include:

• Learn about state-of-the-art real-time modeling applications 
• Conduct feasibility studies to establish proof of concept for various AI use cases
• Develop proficiency in data analysis through active participation in data collection, preparation, and analysis
• Collaborate closely with colleagues on projects and engage in a diverse array of tasks within an agile development environment

Background & Skills

For this position, you are a student of an engineering-related subject (Data Analytics Science, Data Engineering, Software Engineering, Process/Energy Engineering, Computer Science) or a comparable degree. In addition, we are looking for:

• Interest in future sustainable and artificial intelligence technologies
• Programming skills in Python 
• Experience with common machine learning frameworks (e.g. TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-Learn) or comparable tools are beneficial.
• Basic knowledge of thermodynamics and heat transfer is a plus
• Fact-oriented, open-minded person with good communication skills
• Fluent English skills required
• Working 1-2 days (maximum 20 hours/week) from the Hamburg office is mandatory
