Data Engineer – Cloud | ETL | Data Architecture

Your Impact

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Data Engineer to join our growing data team. You will be a key member of the E-Commerce Platform optimisation squad, and responsible for building strategical data pipelines. In addition, you will also play a crucial role in designing, building, and maintaining our data infrastructure, enabling us to leverage data for critical business decisions. You will have a deep understanding in data engineering principles, extensive experience with ETL, data warehousing and cloud technologies and a proven ability to lead projects.

About the Role

• Design and architect, develop, and maintain robust and scalable data pipelines using a variety of ETL tools. Ideally using tools like SAP BO Data Services and cloud-based tools like Azure Data Factory
• Design and architect, develop, and maintain data warehouses such as Azure SQL, SAP HANA, and data lakes
• Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable data models using Data Virtualisation tools like Denodo and oversee work being delivered by vendor partners
• Knowledge of data coming from sources like SAP, Salesforce, Dynamics etc.
• Integrate data from various source systems, including SAP, Salesforce, data warehouses, and other cloud and on-premises systems.
• Implement data transformation, data cleansing, and data validation processes.
• Optimise data pipelines for performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Knowledge of CI/CD and other modern practices such as Azure DevOps
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with stakeholders across engineering, architecture, and business teams.

About You

• Degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics or related field
• Extensive experience in enterprise data modeling, ETL design, data warehousing, pipelines, and analysis, with experience building data solutions from scratch.
• Strong SQL skills, knowledge of relational/analytical databases, ETL tools (SAP BO, Azure Data Factory), data virtualization (Denodo), and familiarity with Python, JDBC, XML, and Web Services APIs.
• Proficient in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), with hands-on experience managing modern data platforms and engineering workflows.
• Experience with data from ERP systems (SAP, Dynamics, Oracle Financials, Salesforce) and e-commerce data pipelines (e.g., SAP Hybris).
• Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally, manage vendors, and build strategic alliances across business units.
• Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills working with complex datasets
• Background in FMCG or Finance functions highly regarded
