Summary
The Asset & Wildfire Risk team is responsible for PGE’s wildfire risk management and mitigation strategy, situational awareness, ignition management and capital planning for wildfire mitigation. As a Wildfire Operational Analyst, you will have the unique opportunity to provide cross-functional and enterprise-wide analytical support, focusing on ignitions. You will support data-driven initiatives, develop predictive analytics, and serve as a subject matter expert for operational metrics, contributing to PGE's safe and reliable power delivery. A successful candidate will have knowledge of statistics, metrics, and data visualization, coupled with skills in analytical thinking and risk management capabilities.

Key Responsibilities
Specialization Typically provides line of business analytical support or
support to multiple related areas.
Reporting Assesses or anticipates needs and develops reports to meet business objectives choosing data appropriate to the need. Collaborates with others to integrate data from multiple sources or systems. Develops reporting format to meet user needs selecting data and visuals based on business objectives. May provide data to support compliance reporting. Ensures data security and integrity. May identify and mitigate data risks.
Strategy and Planning May proactively identify data and analytics needed to support development of line of business metrics and long- range planning. May use data to recommend new or modified operational performance metrics.
Data Management Depending on specialty area assigned, may manage data related to budget, position management and/or operational performance metrics. May design or administer database or other data repository including performing upgrades or updates. May perform user acceptance testing. May obtain data from external studies or sources. May do some system or database coding or configuration depending on position.
Analysis Analyzes data from multiple sources to develop regular and predictive analytics and operational metrics. Conducts benchmarking and identifies differences. Creates visuals and other means to explain data trends. Identifies and explains data trends, assumptions and anomalies. Identifies risks and recommends mitigation strategies.
Consulting Serves as line of business data subject matter expert. Responds to information requests and suggests additional data and analysis to meet business needs. Analyzes data trends and makes recommendations. Identifies gaps in data, metrics or processes. Develops and tracks progress toward metrics. Recommends operational process improvements. Proactively identifies data needed to inform business decisions. May quantify risks.
Projects and Initiatives Supports projects by anticipating data needs and providing relevant data and analysis. May lead data-driven projects.
Qualifications
Education/Experience/Certifications
- Requires a bachelor’s degree in business, finance, statistics, psychology or other related field or equivalent experience.
- P2 - Typically two or more years in statistics, finance, process
improvement, project management or related field. - P3 - Typically five or more years in statistics, finance, process improvement, project management or related field.
- Familiarity with wildfire mitigation or ignition investigation is a plus.
- Familiarity with electric utility reliability metrics or root cause analysis is a plus.
- Familiarity with the National Electric Safety Code is a plus.

Compensation Range:
$74,325.00 - $148,625.00Actual total compensation, including a performance based incentive bonus, is commensurate with experience, skills, qualifications, education, training, and internal equity. While we anticipate the selected candidate for this position will fall towards the middle or entry point of the compensation range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis.
