Job Description

REMOTE or HYBRID: This role is based remotely but if you live within a 50-mile radius of Cadillac Tower Warren, MI or Austin Technical Center in Austin, TX you are expected to report to that location three times a week, at minimum. This job may be eligible for relocation.

We are seeking a skilled and experienced data professional to lead marketing data quality strategy, monitoring, and governance - working in cross-functional collaboration with stakeholders across GM marketing teams and the broader enterprise.  

The Marketing Data Product Manager - Governance & Quality will lead technical and organizational aspects of marketing data governance and quality, focusing both on enterprise data used for marketing activation as well data across marketing technology platforms and partners. You will build both product and processes solutions that ensure high and consistent quality of data used by downstream platforms and stakeholders.  

This is a hands-on role where tactical implementation is critical. 

Ideal candidate should be an assertive and strong communicator, able to able to appropriately advocate for marketing data needs and priorities with stakeholders at all levels of General Motors, including high level management, as well as communicate as a respected technical peer with data engineers.  

Infectious curiosity is critical to understand datasets and extract quality requirements from stakeholders who might not be self-aware of their data quality requirements and needs. 

Technical implementation of data quality monitoring is a key and critical part of the role, building and managing the tactical level of data quality strategies in Azure Databricks for oversight and compliance management. 

This role will ensure and manage compliance with General Motors data management privacy and control policies, ensuring data integrity and implementing effective data stewardship practices. 

We are looking for someone who gets excited about working with data and marketing.  A passion for cars, trucks, or the general automotive business is a major plus. 

Roles and Responsibilities include but not limited to: 

  • Perform data quality needs assessments with various stakeholders and datasets, with a specific focus on marketing paid media and data used in marketing technology platforms for media/email activation (primarily Adobe platforms). 

  • Track and manage marketing data quality and governance using agile product management processes. 

  • Create data monitoring tools, methods, and processing in Azure Databricks as well as potentially other data quality tools within the enterprise. 

  • Lead data governance committee, process, and tactical implementation around marketing data to enable integrated campaign reporting and analytics. 

  • Design and implement strategies and methods for monitoring and validating data integrity between decoupled marketing platforms.  

  • Manage marketing platform team documentation, process, and approvals in accordance with General Motors policies for data privacy and transport controls. 

  • Work with enterprise colleagues and vendor partners to identify and resolve data quality issues and strengthen general data quality practices. 

Additional Job Description

Job related experience and qualifications: 

  • 5 years of relevant experience in data-intensive roles. 

  • Very strong knowledge of SQL and relational database methodologies is critical - Python, Spark, and/or Azure Databricks experience is preferred. 

  • Experience in data leadership role from both a technical as well as an organization perspective. 

  • Excellent communications and collaboration skills is required – you will be expected to lead meetings that include director level management and cross-functional stakeholders. 

  • Experience working with marketing data is preferred by not critical. 

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in a related field. 

Compensation: The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. The compensation may not be representative for positions located outside of New York, Colorado, California, or Washington. 

  • The salary range for this role is ( $94,800 - $151,400 ). The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
  • Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
