THE ROLE & THE TEAM

The Head of Demand Analytics is essential in establishing Lounge by Zalando as the premier fashion destination by supporting our marketing strategy with data-driven insights and our unique value proposition. The main goal of this role is to enable core stakeholder teams to create significant impact by implementing advanced measurement strategies and analytics, such as Attribution, MMM, and incrementality testing.

Moreover, supplying Customer Data and Insights for our Customer Engagement Strategy, along with ongoing Budget planning (both Long and Short Term), are key areas of focus. To support this, the roles team is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the data infrastructure within the Marketing (Demand) organization. The analytic capability and output will enable measurement and optimization of marketing programs and campaigns at different levels. 

THE ROLE & THE TEAM

The Head of Demand Analytics is responsible for ensuring the measurement and steering results are in alignment with business requirements and technical accuracy. This leader will also partner with with key peers both within Demand (Head of Marketing, Head of Demand Tech, Head of Brand & Creative) as well as outside (Product Analytics, Data Platform, Markets) to make sure information is shared and aligned strategies are created to maximize value of analytics to the Lounge by Zalando.

This position involves overseeing three key teams: “Marketing Analytics”, “Customer Segmentation & Predictive Analytics”, as well as “Data Infrastructure & Tracking”, managing nearly 20 full-time employees and is making sure that the team has state of the art tooling, infrastructure and processes to their disposal, as well as carries out statistical research that enables the entire Demand Team.

WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)

  • Design and lead the development of a cutting-edge marketing measurement architecture that enables Lounge by Zalando to create marketing attribution and media mix models, enhancing ROI throughout the marketing funnel.

  • Craft analytically-driven strategies that enhance customer loyalty and maximize the impact of our marketing investments. In every campaign and initiative, you'll be instrumental in forging connections with millions of customers, establishing Lounge by Zalando as a market leader.

  • Utilize Marketing Data Science expertise in areas like churn analysis, lifetime value (LTV) prediction, and return on ad spend (ROAS) forecasting. Apply your knowledge in marketing attribution by implementing models such as First-Touch, Last-Touch, Linear, Time-Decay, and Data-Driven Attribution (DDA) to evaluate multi-channel marketing efforts and guide your team effectively.

  • Develop, guide, and lead a high-performing team of Analysts, Data Scientists, and Data Engineers, nurturing a culture that prioritizes continuous learning and innovation.

  • Mentor team members to support their career growth, ensuring they have the skills and resources needed to provide actionable insights and recommendations.

WE’D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF

  • Strong technical leadership skills with proven capability to hire, mentor, and lead a team of analysts, data engineers and data scientists in a fast paced complex environment.

  • Deep understanding of and hands-on experience with data and marketing technologies including SQL/NoSQL databases, data warehousing solutions, data lakes, cloud-based analytics and reporting platforms as well as experience with our Tech stack (AWS, Redshift, Google Bigquery, Tableau, Python) is a plus.

  • Possess a deep understanding of measurement and customer segmentation, along with extensive knowledge of Google Analytics and mobile measurement partner (MMP) solutions like Adjust.

  • Strong business acumen, an ability to translate data insights into business opportunities and strategic decisions. 

  • 8+ years professional experience leading high-performing analysis teams applying statistical methods in domains such as marketing measurement, economics, or martech

  • You have a customer-centric mindset, know how to put yourself in our customer’s shoes and have a strong commercial attitude.

  • Exceptional Stakeholder Management: You excel at managing stakeholders, confidently communicating with upper management and senior leaders to ensure alignment and garner support for Marketing initiatives.

  • Vision: You have a knack for seeing the bigger picture and turning complex data into real business value.
