Overview

The Manager of Data Products is accountable for the development, lifecycle management, and delivery of reusable data assets, analytics-enabling datasets, and data stewardship tools that support business operations, strategic projects, and self-service analytics. This manager acts as a key bridge between the enterprise data and business intelligence teams, ensuring that business stakeholders have trusted, curated, and accessible data.

 

This role requires strong expertise in data modeling, product thinking, and stakeholder engagement. The Manager of Data Products leads a team of analytics engineers and developers, champions best practices in reusable data design, and ensures data solutions are aligned with business goals and governance frameworks.

 

This manager plays a critical role in transforming raw data into scalable, governed, and high-impact data products that enable decision-making across the enterprise.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise-wide data products, including curated datasets, semantic layers, and stewardship tools
  • Define product vision and roadmaps in partnership with business stakeholders, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities
  • Manage intake, prioritization, and delivery of data product requests across business units
  • Oversee the development of scalable and governed data marts, metadata-driven pipelines, and stewardship applications
  • Champion modern data practices including dbt, version control, CI/CD for analytics, and automation of data validation
  • Ensure adherence to data governance policies, including data definitions, quality rules, and lineage tracking
  • Drive continuous improvement of data usability, documentation, and discoverability through strong collaboration with governance and BI teams
  • Mentor and lead a team of analytics engineers and data product developers

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or related field
  • 8+ years of experience in data analytics, data modeling, or business intelligence environments
  • 3–5 years of experience in a management or team lead role
  • Proven experience delivering scalable data products in on-prem and cloud-based environments
  • Hands-on experience with dbt, SQL, data catalogs, and analytics layer tools
  • Familiarity with agile product development and backlog management
  • Strong stakeholder communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

Compensation and Total Rewards Package

The anticipated pay range for this role is listed below and represents our good faith and reasonable estimate of the starting salary range at the time of posting. In addition, this role is eligible for a discretionary bonus based on performance. The actual offered rate for this position will be determined based on job-related, non-discriminatory factors, including qualifications and experience, geographic location, education, external market data and consideration of internal equity.

 

  • Boston: $123,200 - $187,950

Working Conditions

This position requires hybrid on-site presence as an essential function of the role. Consistent and predictable on-site presence is required for ongoing business continuity, professional development and effective collaboration with colleagues and management.
