About The Role & Team

The Data Warehouse team is dedicated to building world-class products that help customers easily and reliably bring data from their digital ecosystems into Amplitude. We’re looking for a Staff Product Engineer to join our passionate team of engineers. In this role, you will be responsible for creating best-in-class, end-to-end experiences that empower customers to do their best work.

 As a Staff Engineer, you will: 

  • Work across our entire stack using Typescript, React + Redux, CSS Modules, GraphQL, Node, Java, Postgres, and MySQL
  • Lead the design and development of projects, and participate in every step of projects, from ideation and implementation, through to testing, QA, and launch.
  • Identify opportunities to improve Amplitude based on research, data, creativity, and user feedback
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration with product and design teams to iterate on our products
  • Contribute to the technical direction of the team.
  • Mentor other engineers in best practices, training them to have an outsized impact on the codebase.

 

You'll be a great addition to the team if you:

  • Have a thorough understanding and experience with one or more JavaScript application frameworks (React/Redux, Angular, Backbone, etc.)
  • Have a great understanding of current and emerging trends in web application development
  • Have a bias for action. You’d rather implement, learn from results, and iterate quickly than spend a lot of time tweaking and perfecting things before launching to end users.
  • Enjoy working closely with Design and Product Management to solve real customer pain points.
  • Strong practitioner of automated testing.
  • Bonus points if you:
    • Have previous experience on data connection team
    • Have previous experience on data warehouses(snowflake, databricks, bigquery) and cloud storages(aws s3, gcp cloud storage, azure blob storage)

 

At a minimum, you need to have:

  • 7+ years industrial experience
  • Expertise in React, Redux and Node. Familiarity with Java.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.

Based on Colorado law, the following details are for individuals who will work for Amplitude in Colorado. Colorado range: $185,000 - $278,000 total target cash (inclusive of bonus or commission)

Based on legislation in New York City, the following details are for individuals who will work for Amplitude in New York City. New York City salary range: $204,000 - $307,000 total target cash (inclusive of bonus or commission)

Based on legislation in California, the following details are for individuals who will work for Amplitude in San Francisco Bay Area of California. Salary range: $204,000 - $307,000 total target cash (inclusive of bonus or commission)

Based on legislation in California, the following details are for individuals who will work for Amplitude in California outside of the San Francisco Bay Area. California salary range: $185,000 - $278,000 total target cash (inclusive of bonus or commission)

Based on legislation in Washington state, the following details are for individuals who will work for Amplitude in Washington state. Washington salary range: $185,000 - $278,000 total target cash (inclusive of bonus or commission)

Based on legislation in Washington state, the following details are for individuals who will work for Amplitude in Washington only: unlimited PTO, 10 to 13 holidays annually (will vary), medical dental and vision PPO and CDHP plans. Finally, a company sponsored 401(k) retirement plan."
