We seek a seasoned Senior Data Scientist with a strong background in consultancy pre-sales to join our team. This role requires an individual who seamlessly blends technical data science expertise with business acumen. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving data-driven insights that inform strategic decisions, while effectively communicating complex concepts to various stakeholders. The role supports our sales efforts by articulating the value of data solutions to potential clients, particularly in the retail and consumer packaged goods (RCPG) industry.
Key Responsibilities- Data Analysis & Modeling: Perform hands-on data science work, including data cleaning, exploratory data analysis, and developing predictive models using statistical and machine learning techniques.- Pre-Sales Support: Collaborate with the sales team to understand client needs and showcase our data solutions during pre-sales meetings and presentations.- Stakeholder Communication: Translate complex data findings into clear, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders, ensuring alignment with business objectives.- Solution Development: Design and prototype data-driven solutions tailored to client requirements, demonstrating how these solutions can address specific business challenges.- Market Research: Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies in data science to propose innovative solutions and maintain a competitive edge.- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, engineering, and marketing, to influence product development and go-to-market strategies.- Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior data scientists, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages learning and growth.
Required Skills and Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.- 5+ years of experience in data science, with a strong emphasis on hands-on modeling and analysis.- Proven experience in a pre-sales or consultancy role, with a track record of successfully engaging with clients.- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL, and experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).- Strong understanding of statistical methods, machine learning algorithms, and data mining techniques.- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences.- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a results-driven mindset.- Advanced English skills (you need to be able to talk to international clients).
Nice to Have- Experience in the Retail and Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry, with knowledge of common challenges such as demand forecasting and market mix modeling.- Familiarity with big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Databricks) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).- Experience with A/B testing and experimental design methodologies.- Knowledge of data governance and compliance issues related to data privacy and security.- Previous experience in leading data science projects from conception to execution, including stakeholder management and project delivery.
