Director of Data Science

Responsibilities

Peraton’s RDG is seeking a Director of Information Technology/Data Science lead AI/ML initiatives, drive innovation, and expand our capabilities in evaluating emerging technologies. This role will focus on AI technology integration, rapid prototyping, and strategic partnerships to enhance our data science and analytics solutions. The ideal candidate will have expertise in AI/ML algorithms, data engineering, and cloud-based analytics, particularly within Azure technologies.

 

This is a 100% Remote position.

 

Responsibilities:

 

• Lead AI/ML initiatives within Peraton RDG, evaluating emerging technologies and developing rapid prototypes to drive innovation and best practices.
• Guide AI/ML solution patterns to support innovation, identifying strategic partnership opportunities with companies in the AI/ML space.
• Scalable Data Engineering & Analytics Solutions: Architect and implement modern, scalable data solutions.
• Coordinate and execute data science strategies to support background investigation operations for Peraton.
• Develop models and experiments to enhance productivity, quality, and data-informed process improvements.
• Oversee Enterprise Data Warehousing (EDW) initiatives, leveraging Azure technologies for advanced data processing and analytics.

 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• US Citizenship
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret eligible clearance; Active federal background investigation with a T5 adjudication is preferred
• 16+ years of combined experience in AI/ML, data science, data analytics, management and data driven process optimization.
• Expertise in AI technology integration, and machine learning algorithms.
• Strong experience in data engineering, ETL pipelines, and scalable analytics solutions.
• Proven ability to develop AI-driven models for operational efficiency and process optimization.
• Strong leadership skills with experience in cross-functional collaboration and strategic partnerships.
• Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Data Science preferred
• Experience in background investigation operations or government contracting.
• Familiarity with Peraton’s business model and security compliance requirements.
• Knowledge of automated AI/ML workflows and MLOps best practices.
• Experience with Azure Data Services, including Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Machine Learning.
• Deep knowledge of data warehousing (EDW), cloud-based analytics, and compliance-driven data solutions.

Target Salary Range

$176,000 - $282,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
