Data Engineer (Snowflake)

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement robust data pipelines using Python, PySpark, SQL, Airflow, EMR, EKS
  , and more in an AWS Data Lake used for customer and engagement reporting and analytics.
• Automate the extraction, transformation, and loading of data (ETL processes) to enhance data
  accessibility and reliability.
• Develop and maintain scalable and reliable data architecture to support our analytics and
  reporting needs.
• Collaborate with the analytics team to provide data in a ready-to-use form for interactive and
  ad-hoc analyses, to progress beyond our manual Tableau based filtering process, to a new,
  scalable reporting automation
• Implement best practices for data cleaning, validation, and anomaly detection to ensure the
  accuracy and completeness of data
• Develop a user-friendly interface for automating and scheduling report generation, leveraging
  web development skills.
• Work with cross-functional teams to understand data needs, gather requirements, and deliver
  comprehensive data solutions.
• Document the data engineering processes, systems, and procedures for reference and
  compliance.

Must-have Skills

• Proven experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role, with a strong focus on data
  pipeline development and automation.
• Expert-level proficiency with Snowflake, showcasing the ability to architect, optimize, and manage complex data workflows within the platform.
• Strong command of Python and PySpark, applied in large-scale data processing environments to enable efficient and performant solutions.
• Solid experience with AWS cloud services, particularly EMR, EKS, MWAA or Airflow, S3
  and Athena, in a Data Lake and/or Warehouse environment
• Demonstrated expertise in ETL design and development, combined with a solid grasp of data modeling best practices.
• Expertise in DBT (data build tool), with the ability to design, implement, and maintain modular, well-documented transformation logic at scale.
• Experience automating user customizable reports at scale
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently
  and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and
  stakeholders.

Nice to have Skills

• Past experience in Web Development is ideal as we plan to build a UI for users to request and customize their reports
• Strong Knowledge/Experience with GCP Data Infrastructure, in particular, BigQuery, Dataform, GCS, Pub/Sub, Looker, Looker Studio, etc
• Familiarity with dashboarding and reporting tools, their limitations and how to overcome these and improve performance with Data Engineering skills and techniques
• Experience in building real time pipelines and cross cloud data environments
• Experience and Knowledge of Machine Learning and AI
