Ping Identity is seeking a high-impact, data-driven Director of BI and Data Analytics to lead global data insight and BI, drive excellence, and execute on initiatives that increase data visibility by developing and implementing the organization's overall business intelligence (BI) strategy, driving data-driven insights, and overseeing the BI department This is a critical leadership role focused on optimizing how the Customer Experience organisation use data and aligning the BI team with the organisation’s strategic goals and initiatives. You will work with the Senior Director of CX Operations and functional Operations Managers to define a BI strategy that delivers what the functions need and moves us to a predictive data model.
Key Responsibilities
● Strategic Planning: Develop and implement the organization's BI strategy, ensuring it aligns with the organization’s overall goals.
● Team Management: Oversee and manage the BI team, including analysts, data scientists, and other professionals.
● Data-Driven Decision Making: Provide data-driven insights to support business decision-making at all levels.
- Build dashboards that empower quick data access and self-service for colleagues across different functions
- Collaborate with GSO, Customer Success, Renewals and Professional Services Managers to analyze usage and adoption trends to understand user behavior
- Conduct in-depth analysis to understand the dynamics behind different KPIs proactively identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Define, develop, and maintain Business Intelligence reporting in Tableau, working closely with business stakeholders, and identifying & translating complex business requirements into solution designs.
- Lead demonstrations, data validation, and occasional enablement activities around the release of new reports, dashboards, or enhancements
● Stakeholder Management: Build strong relationships with stakeholders across different departments and levels of the organization.
● Technology and Tools: Stay up-to-date with the latest BI technologies, tools, and methodologies.
● Budget Management: Manage the BI department's budget and resources effectively.
● System Updates: Oversee system updates and ensure they are implemented effectively, potentially providing technical support or software maintenance.
Required Skills & Experience
- Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of data analysis, data modeling, and BI tools and technologies.
- Business Acumen: A deep understanding of the business environment, industry trends, and organizational dynamics.
- Leadership Skills: Ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team effectively.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively communicate data insights to stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and solve complex business problems using data.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills to identify patterns, trends, and insights in data
Systems, Tools & Analytics
- Define and maintain performance dashboards across organizational KPIs
- Introduce automation and reporting capabilities that free up capacity and enable proactive decision-making.
Team Leadership
- Lead and grow a small team focused on BI and data analytics
- Provide hands-on coaching, mentoring, and career development to build a high-performing team.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in BI and Analytics within the software/SaaS space.
- 10+ years in people management roles leading high-performing operations or analytics teams.
- 10+ years of experience of building & maintaining Tableau reports.
- 10+ years experience with Salesforce, MS Dynamics, or similar CRM solutions.
- Proven experience driving forecast rigor, operational excellence, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Strong business acumen and analytical thinking, with deep experience in forecasting, metrics design, and reporting.
- Outstanding communication skills and executive presence; able to operate effectively across technical and business stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field required; MBA or relevant Master’s degree preferred.
- Familiarity with IAM or cybersecurity industries is a plus.
