We have an exciting opportunity for a Data Analyst to join the Water Service Delivery/Water Strategy Planning & Investment team  at Yorkshire Water and be a part of helping Yorkshire Water to provide the best service to our customers. Could this be you?

Water Service Delivery and Water Strategy Planning & Investment are a key part of how we plan to meet the changing expectations of customers and regulators. 

 

The Water Service Delivery and Water Strategy Planning & Investment teams are at the forefront of ensuring Yorkshire Water meets its performance commitments related to water demand. You'll be joining a dynamic and dedicated group responsible for understanding and managing water consumption across the region. This involves working with a variety of data sources and stakeholders to drive efficiency and contribute to the sustainable use of our precious water resources. Your insights will directly influence our strategies for reducing Per Capita Consumption (PCC) and Non-Household (NHH) demand, playing a vital role in our long-term water resource management and tariff development.

 

Where you fit in:

 

As our Data Analyst - Demand you will

 

  • Proactively ensure the integrity of demand data streams and identify when maintenance is required to retrieve data.
  • Ensure that Netbase, Datagate, AI2 and ROD2/SPOT are kept up to date with demand data including Domestic Consumption Monitor (DCM) data logger deployments and movements and identify any shortfalls or missing data.
  • Diligently analyse and validate customer representation and usage data for PCC from the 1,000+ unmeasured DCM scheme participants, measured household customers billed volumes and NHH billed volumes provide from the Wholesale Services team.
  • Scrutinise, analyse and validate varying sets of data and produce monthly performance reports for the management team and other users of the data (including the monthly PCC cohort, income hub analysis and demand management PEx hub reporting).
  • Maintain existing and document new procedures detailing how demand data is managed, analysed and reported and share these with the APR team and Ofwat auditor for scrutiny and understanding prior to and during audit.
  • Represent the company in Annual Performance Reporting (APR) audits with Ofwat representatives and demonstrate excellent data governance.
  • Assist on new and existing data projects and identify the data and visualise it using appropriate applications, clarify any obstacles and findings, report them to project manager or wider team.
  • Maintain a thorough audit trail through YW's corporate systems of decisions made and actions taken to support accurate reporting.

 

What skills & qualifications you will need:

 

  • Demonstrate extensive analytical skills with a proven track record of compiling and interpreting data from varying data sources.
  • Advanced user of Netbase.
  • Experienced in Yorkshire Water's corporate systems including SAP, AI2, ROD2/SPOT, Odyssey, YorBill.
  • Diligent with a strong attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills, an empathetic attitude and experience with providing excellent customer service.
  • Experienced in using Microsoft Outlook and Office including Word, Excel (Advanced) and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to focus on specific activities whilst understanding the wider impact of service delivery to all customers.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective internal and external relationships with colleagues and customers.

 

You will also benefit from having:

 

  • Experience of using PowerBI and creating dashboards for demand and benefit realisation of water efficiency initiatives.
  • Understanding of the water balance and how PCC and NHH are calculated.
  • Experience of delivering against challenging business targets.
  • Qualification to HND level or evidence of relevant experience in an analytical role.
