The Lin group fosters a lively yet casual environment, with a strong emphasis on collaborative work. The Computational Biology Program is housed in a lovely campus on Lake Union a short walk from downtown, and a short bus ride from the University of Washington. The Lin group is in the newly-remodeled Steam Plant building overlooking the lake. One internship position is available starting Spring 2025.
Responsibilities
The lab of Dr. Xueqiu (Chu) Lin in the Computational Biology program at Fred Hutch is seeking one highly motivated student interested in developing deep learning models to decipher the DNA regulatory syntax (e.g., motif syntax) of epistasis interactions in genomic regulation. This internship would be a good fit for someone with a more computational background.
Qualifications
- Applicants must a student in good standing in a current undergraduate program or be a recent graduate
- Have completed introductory computer science and/or biology
- Be interested in learning more about computational biology and related careers
- Applicants should have experience in a major programming language and a willingness to learn about deep learning and genomic regulation.
The hourly pay range for this position is from $20.76 to $29.54 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
