Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly skilled and cleared Senior Computer Scientist to join our team supporting the Integrated Threat Analysis and Simulation Environment (ITASE) program. This position will provide critical expertise in advanced analytics, AI/ML model development, and threat model verification and validation (V&V) in support of Department of Defense (DoD) and Intelligence Community (IC) missions.

The successful candidate will be a hands-on technical expert in statistical modeling, data mining, and AI/ML, with a strong ability to present complex results clearly, drive decision-making through actionable insights, and help lead integration efforts within a net-centric and digital engineering ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-depth logical analysis of management problems using multivariate analysis, linear modeling, and data mining.

  • Develop and apply advanced statistical and mathematical techniques to complex datasets.

  • Build, validate, and maintain predictive analytics models in support of mission planning and simulation.

  • Present technical findings and actionable recommendations to stakeholders, both technical and non-technical.

  • Prepare comprehensive, non-technical written reports for executive-level management.

  • Communicate model outputs and insights to users and provide necessary training/support.

  • Supervise junior staff and oversee task scheduling to ensure timely completion of deliverables.

  • Define project scope and deliverables, estimate timelines, resource requirements, and develop project plans.

  • Coordinate project milestones and deliverables; conduct regular status checks with customers and internal teams.

  • Guide technical development of AI/ML models, including neural network architecture design, data generation, and evaluation.

  • Lead verification and validation (V&V) of all threat definitions and models under the ITASE Task Order.

  • Support and test the ITASE architecture, tools, environmental models, mission threads, and operational readiness reviews (ORRs).

  • Pilot new ITASE environments incorporating innovative analytic technologies and methodologies.

  • Provide recommendations for evolving the ITASE architecture and toolsets to maintain leading-edge capabilities.

  • Support integration of Net-Centric Warfare and Digital Engineering concepts into ITASE framework.

  • Ensure modeling and simulation capabilities align with current and future mission needs of DoD and allied partners.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Active TS/SCI clearance with ability to obtain a polygraph.

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field with 12+ years of relevant experience; Master's degree in a related field with 10+ years of relevant experience; or a Ph.D. in a related field and 7+ years of relevant experience. Alternatively, 4 additional years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Extensive experience in analytics, data science, or AI/ML within a DoD or IC environment.

  • Demonstrated expertise in statistical modeling, machine learning, and simulation analysis.

  • Proficient in tools and programming languages such as Python, R, MATLAB, or similar.

  • Experience with neural network architectures and model operationalization.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex topics to non-technical audiences.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in fast-paced, mission-critical settings.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience supporting ITASE or similar military simulation environments.

  • Familiarity with kill-web scenarios, metamodeling, and first-order analysis techniques.

  • Background in digital engineering, net-centric systems, or systems-of-systems architect
