Position Overview

Pearpop is seeking an experienced Vice President of Engineering to lead our engineering organization and drive the development of our creator management platform. With 10+ years in high tech or media tech and 5+ years in management or C-level roles, you will scale our engineering team, oversee AI-driven product innovation, and align technology with Pearpop’s mission to deliver seamless, impactful solutions. Reporting to the CEO, you will manage relationships with enterprise stakeholders and build a world-class engineering culture in a hybrid LA-based role. This is a pivotal leadership position to fuel Pearpop’s growth in the creator economy.

Key Responsibilities

• Engineering Leadership: Lead and scale a high-performing engineering team across the stack (front-end, back-end, AI, infrastructure), fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.

• AI-Driven Product Development: Oversee the integration of AI and machine learning technologies (e.g., recommendation algorithms, data analytics) into Pearpop’s creator platform to enhance campaign performance and user experience.

• Team Building and Scaling: Recruit, mentor, and develop top engineering talent, expanding the team to support Pearpop’s rapid growth and enterprise-level demands.

• Strategic Alignment: Partner with the CEO and leadership to align engineering roadmaps with business goals, ensuring scalable, reliable technology for creator and brand partnerships.

• Enterprise Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain relationships with C-level stakeholders (e.g., CEOs, CTOs) at multinational brands, representing Pearpop’s technical vision in high-stakes partnerships.

• Technical Oversight: Provide hands-on guidance, leveraging your back-end engineering expertise, to ensure robust architecture, scalability, and performance across the platform.

• Process Optimization: Implement engineering processes (e.g., agile development, CI/CD) to meet tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.

Required Skills and Experience

• 10+ years of professional experience in high tech or media tech, with a focus on scalable software development.

• 5+ years of management or C-level experience, ideally as VP, CTO, or Head of Engineering at a Series B or later-stage tech company.

• Proven experience managing a company or product in the AI space, with knowledge of machine learning or data-driven technologies.

• Direct engineering experience, with a preference for back-end expertise (e.g., Node.js, Python, cloud infrastructure).

• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including Google Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, Cloud SQL, and Compute Engine

• Demonstrated success building and scaling engineering teams across front-end, back-end, and AI disciplines.

• Experience in managing relationships with enterprise-level stakeholders, including CEOs and CTOs of large multinational companies.

• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to unite technical and business teams around a shared vision.

• Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly growing startup environment.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the creator economy, influencer marketing, or media technology industries, with familiarity in social media platforms and creative workflows.

• Knowledge of front-end technologies (e.g., JavaScript/React) to complement back-end expertise.

• Prior success leading engineering at a pre-IPO startup, with an understanding of equity-driven growth.

• Comfortable navigating the cultural and technical nuances of the Los Angeles tech and media scene.

• Location: Remote, based in the United States (Los Angeles preferred, with in-office and remote flexibility).
