About the Ireland Research CenterIreland Research Center's mission is to position Huawei as a recognized technology leader and a global provider of system solutions for terminal and computing devices, in the cloud or telecom infrastructure. To achieve this, we are building an industry-recognized multi-discipline Research Centre of experts with a focus on medium-term to long-term issues. The IRC will work closely with an open, innovative ecosystem with Huawei customers to address real-world issues. The IRC will also engage with key European universities to build a basic research capability to support Huawei technical projects.
About the jobWe are looking for two interns to work with our AI research team, conducting world-class research in the area of future Autonomous Data Management & Agentic AI Systems. The AI research team are working on production Datasets in close collaboration with a team of Domain Experts and Software Engineers.
Fuelled by advancements in Deep Learning and the availability of internet-scale datasets, Large Language Models (LLM) have emerged as a transformative paradigm on the path towards Autonomous Data Management. We are looking for enthusiastic interns that want to apply LLMs to complex problems in telecommunication network self-healing and self-configuration through LLM-based abstract and logical reasoning.
ResponsibilitiesWe are looking for interns who are interested in one or more of the following areas:
- LLMs for reasoning and planning problems (Chain-of-Thoughts, Tree-of-Thoughts).
- Process Reward Models for reasoning and planning.
- LLM reasoning through Reinforcement Learning (Monte Carlo Tree Search, Group Relative Policy Optimisation).
- LLM-based multi-agent systems.
- Automated prompt optimisation.
- RAG technologies
- Currently enrolled in a PhD degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Experience with some of the following: LLMs, Reinforcement Learning, LLM-based reasoning methods, multi-agent systems based on language agents, automated prompt optimisation and RAG Technologies.
- Very good practical experience with training Deep Neural Networks.
- Experience with Python, Pytorch, Scikit-learn,LLM.
- Available to work for 20-40 hours per week for a minimum of 6 months.
- Returning to your degree after completing the internship.
- Relevant work experience, including internships, full time industry experience or as a researcher in a lab.
- Ability to design and execute on research agendas.
- Experience with research communities and/or efforts, including having published papers (being listed as author) at conferences (e.g. NIPS, ICML, ICLR, AAAI, AAMAS).
