As the Senior Analytics Engineer, you will be a critical member of our product analytics team. You will help us track and model product adoption, engagement, retention, and customer health. You will work autonomously and will own the transformation layer and data governance for product analytics while designing and collaborating with product analytics, data engineers, product managers, and software engineers. Your work will be central to the development and strategic success of the product.

Who You Are:

  • You are passionate about expanding our data warehouse with clean data ready for analysis
  • You have hands-on experience with maintaining and scaling dbt
  • You have a track record of success in building new analytics engineering processes
  • You possess strong technical, modeling, and analytical knowledge and the ability to work through ambiguity
  • You can translate business metrics and product tasks into well-scoped tasks and requirements
  • You are an effective communicator
  • You are a believer in compassionate directness who gives and receives feedback with heart


How You'll Contribute:

  • Provide thoughtful written communication, clear points of view, and actionable recommendations for the teams you work with
  • Support best practices and data governance standards for our usage data, such as naming conventions and properties
  • Configure, optimize, and troubleshoot our dbt-databricks integration for production-grade enrichment pipelines
  • Define and improve our internal standards for style, maintainability, and best practices for scalable data infrastructure and modeling that supports internal and customer reporting
  • Ensure data ownership and partnership across the stack


Must Haves:

  • 3+ years in a data engineering, analytics engineering, and/or data analyst role, with experience at a remote startup preferred
  • Strong stakeholder management, and clear, direct communication skills about complex, technical topics
  • Ability to work and interface directly with analysts, data engineers, product managers, and software engineers
  • A proven track record of applying data modeling approaches and philosophies to data architecture
  • Expert proficiency in SQL to drive business insights
  • Comfortable working with Git and the command line
  • Significant hands-on experience with modern data stack tooling, with dbt experience required and with Databricks experience preferred. Our stack includes Airbyte, Dagster,  Segment, Avo, Databricks, dbt, Looker, Spectacles, and Kubit

Compensation for this role depends on level, and will likely fall in the $175,000-$180,000 range. We provide a competitive mix of salary, performance bonus, and equity
