In this position you will:

  • Process and deliver coastal drone data associated with the National Coastal Drone Program (NCDP)
  • Coordinate data analysis workflows with regional technical staff around Australia, including standard operating procedures
  • Coordinate the QA/QC of all NCDP data using best practice protocols, and distribute data to AuScope data portals
  • Coordinate potential incorporation of third-party coastal drone data contributed to the NCDP(e.g., from existing State/regional programs)
  • Contribute to activities related to coastal data collaboration, including other national research infrastructure capabilities
  • Support and possibly lead, applications for research and creative activities, including applications for external competitive funding, external funding for commercialization and translation activities and other funding demonstrating sustained efforts

                                                                                                                                                                           

To be successful, you’ll have:

  • PhD in in coastal science, data science, coastal engineering, marine science or demonstrated equivalent competency in a related field
  • Demonstrated experience conducting and managing coastal field-based research data
  • Experience in data collection, data processing and data management utilising Drone technology for coastal erosion monitoring and other management applications such as the assessment of habitat condition
  • Proficiency in Matlab/Python or other programming and ability to manage development of code repositories via collaborative frameworks (i.e. GitHub)
