About the Role

We are looking for a motivated Working Student to support our team in extracting and processing location-based data from HERE Map content. You will prototype, structure, and transform geospatial datasets to enable cutting-edge logistics and mobility solutions.

This is a highly practical, hands-on role suited for someone passionate about maps, data, and building real-world Python solutions.

You’ll work closely with senior engineers and product experts, focusing on Python scripting, data processing, and lightweight prototyping using Jupyter Notebooks.

Responsibilities

• Extract and process rich geospatial datasets (road attributes, POIs, restrictions, etc.) from HERE Map content.

• Build and validate quick prototypes using Python and Jupyter Notebooks.

• Develop scripts and small pipelines to transform, clean, and structure location-based data.

• Create visualizations to support the understanding and validation of processed map data.

• Work closely with backend developers and geospatial specialists to align prototypes with business needs.

Who are you?

• Currently pursuing a Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science, Geoinformatics, Geospatial Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.

• Strong proficiency in Python

• Familiarity with geospatial concepts such as maps, routes, coordinates, and projections.

• Experience with Jupyter Notebooks for prototyping and data exploration.

• Previous exposure to map platforms like HERE Maps, OpenStreetMap (OSM), or similar is highly desirable.

• Practical experience with databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, SQLite, MySQL).

• Good understanding of APIs, data extraction, and JSON/XML formats.

• Fluent in English (spoken and written).
