The University of Maine at Presque Isle is seeking to hire a full-time Assistant Director of Data and Billing to join the Office of Student Financial Services. The location for this position is University of Maine (Orono).
This position is responsible for the comprehensive financial aid management of an assigned caseload of students, including reviewing financial aid applications, verifying documentation, resolving data conflicts, packaging aid, and advising students and families on eligibility and appeal processes. The position also supports data and systems functions such as running packaging routines, testing system updates, maintaining queries, and processing batch tasks related to aid eligibility and disbursement. Additionally, the role includes responsibilities within student financials, including account reconciliation, tuition updates, and support for tax set-off and unclaimed property processes. Collaboration across departments, attention to regulatory compliance, and high-level data management are essential to ensuring accurate and timely financial aid delivery and student support.
Due to the nature of this position, work beyond regular hours (Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm) may be necessary. This could include evenings and weekends.

The salary range for this full time, on-campus (Orono) position is $45,000–$52,000, depending on skills and experience. The university will take into consideration the salary of current UMS employees in cases of transfer or promotion, based on skills and experience.

Required Qualifications:
- Typically has the education associated with a Bachelor's degree and 1-3 years of professional experience or an equivalent combination of academic and directly related professional work experience.
- Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking.
- Demonstrated excellent organizational skills to organize and administer programs in a highly computerized environment.
- Strong attention to detail and aptitude to handle multiple tasks.
- Capacity to work independently and as a member of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous financial aid experience.
- Previous experience with PeopleSoft or other enterprise-wide database systems for higher education.
