Data Engineer - Internship

Irvine, CA (Onsite)

Position Summary

Thales is looking for a Data Engineer - Intern to engage in Business Data Analytics Platform development and deployment.  As our intern, you will get to work with different business functions per project requirement, develop and/or deploy the data pipelines, Power BI reports and other analytics applications under the compliance to industry security practice, and participate or lead specific project. 

In this position, you will also contribute to advanced analytics platform development and analytics tool portfolio enhancement. 

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Develop Business Data Analytics Platform, including integrating different cloud resources into the platform as needed.
  • Develop and support data pipelines.
  • Develop and support data transformation with SQL.
  • Continued assessment of processes to protect data under Thales security requirement.
  • Any additional duties and projects as assigned by Management.
  • Assists in implementation of various tools and processes as required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Working toward a Bachelor’s degree or Master's degree in Computer Science, Business Analytics, Quantitative Analysis, Management Information System, or related field with 0-2 yrs. of experience.
  • Proficiency in Python, VBA, SQL and data modeling.
  • Experience with data visualized analytics tool, e.g., PowerBI, Tableau, Matlab, Grafana, etc.
  • Experience working with end users in technical support or coaching.
  • Exposure to Cloud environment, e.g., Azure, Data Lake, Databricks.
  • Strong skills in Office 365, especially in Excel, including VBA Macro.

What We Offer

The anticipated TTC range for this role is $20-25 USD per hour. The Company reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s status protected by local, state, or federal law.
