Senior Data Scientist: Data Excellence Lead
What you will do
Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will serve as the lead for Process Development’s Data Excellence Program, focusing on 3 pillars: Data Governance, Digital Culture and Data Standardization. Data Excellence is a new initiative to provide structure and a “Data as a Product” mindset to unlock PD’s full potential in the digital transformation space. This role will work cross-functionally within Process Development and indirectly with other organizations, such as Manufacturing, Quality and Therapeutic Discovery.
- Lead a cross-functional, agile data governance product team to define strategic direction, establish governance frameworks, and drive enterprise-aligned decision-making processes
- Establish and scale Communities of Practice to promote data stewardship, enhance data science capabilities, and drive organization-wide digital upskilling and cultural transformation
- Champion continuous improvement by applying Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to digital product development and business process optimization
- Actively partner with business and enterprise to develop and maintain standardization best practices (i.e. controlled vocabularies, structured data capture)
- Design and deliver performance dashboards to track data asset quality, governance KPIs, and the impact of digital initiatives on business outcomes
- Collaborate with internal and external contacts to analyze needs and align product roadmap to strategic goals
- Continuously evaluate emerging trends and best practices to evolve the data governance and standardization strategy
- Act as a Digital PD ambassador to champion adoption, foster knowledge sharing, and drive user engagement across cross-functional teams
What we expect of you

Basic Qualifications:
- High school diploma / GED and 10 years of Data Sciences experience; OR
- Associate’s degree and 8 years of Data Sciences experience; Or
- Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of Data Sciences experience; Or
- Master’s degree and 2 years of Data Sciences experience; Or
- Doctorate degree
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency with applicable project management tools and technology (i.e. Jira, smartsheet, miro, etc.)
- Proficiency with analytics and visualization tools (i.e. Databricks, Spotfire, PowerBI)
- Experience with change management and information systems
- Experience with GxP operations and SOP ownership
- In-depth knowledge of agile methodology for project management
- Outstanding communication, presentation, and leadership skills

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
