Program Overview  

Discover opportunities designed to set your career in motion! The Comcast internship/co-op program will help you cultivate meaningful relationships, develop strong interpersonal and business skills, gain exposure to the day-to-day operations of a Fortune 40 media and technology company, and receive mentorship opportunities to expand your professional network.  

This program immerses students into the daily operation of a contemporary media and technology company while working side-by-side with Comcast’s top innovators. The student becomes an integral part of the Comcast team working on creative, innovative, and thought-provoking projects within various business units. 

 

Organization & Team Overview 

The Comcast Strategic Development (SD) department answers “what’s next” for Comcast by developing strategies to execute acquisitions, partnerships, and incubate new growth businesses. We identify, negotiate and manage strategic deals on behalf of the company.  

 

The AI Strategy, Business Development, & Transformation team is exciting and highly visible. We source, evaluate, and advocate for strategic partnerships and M&A opportunities that accelerate growth of our core business or secure footholds in emerging areas (i.e., AI, cybersecurity, infrastructure / data centers, etc.). The team is currently focusing on some of the most significant and high profile enterprise-wide initiatives, specifically the application of AI / ML and Generative AI for the company. By the nature of the team’s position and subject matter focus, the contributions from the Co-op will be presented to senior leaders within Comcast Cable Consumer and Business Services and Strategic Development, along with various senior leaders across Sky, and NBCUniversal.  

 

This Co-op will have the opportunity to shape how Comcast integrates AI and accelerates revenue generation objectives for the company, influencing our trajectory for years to come. 

Role Description 

The scope of this role includes identifying new AI-enabled and emerging tech growth opportunities, evaluating partnership and M&A opportunities, answering key strategic questions, and supporting or driving high impact projects. This person will have the opportunity to interact with and present to leadership.  

As a Co-op on the team, you will…  

  • Construct business cases w/ financial models and executive ready presentations 
  • Help develop a pipeline of M&A / investments and partnerships, aimed at revenue generation  
  • Research and diligence aspects of business models and companies (public and private), talk to and learn from industry experts and startups, especially within the AI vertical 

 

What are some interesting problems the student will work on?  

The Co-op will help research the evolving AI / ML landscapes, and talk to / learn from startups and enterprises. Co-op will be charged with presenting analysis and insights, and will play a critical role in identifying and establishing hypothesis driven problem statements, quantifying / qualifying supporting details, business case building, and making concrete recommendations. 

Where can this student make an impact?  

Our projects will provide the Co-op participant with subject matter expertise in a critical aspect of Comcast, as well as exposure to the AI and technology ecosystem through numerous conversations with startups, enterprises, investors, and AI experts. We work in a highly collaborative fashion, with great efficiency. There will be ample opportunity to network within the department and externally due to the nature of the work. 

Job Responsibilities 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Work in a highly collaborative fashion, with great efficiency 
  • Participate in team/project discussions and brainstorms 
  • Formulate structured approaches to solving problems and have a high level of comfort in working in ambiguity 
  • Conduct research on topics, company deep dives, analyze/interpret equity reports & company filings 
  • Create and present effective slides & storylines to communicate outputs, tailored to audience & objectives 
  • Prepare various financial and valuation analyses, includes analyses of growth, profitability, returns, investments and cash flow with support from team members 
  • Gathering data, draw conclusions from analysis and data to recommend next steps 
  • Attend conferences, meet with experts, startups, tech enterprises, etc. and share learnings or deal opportunities with the respective teams (Comcast Ventures, Business Product teams, etc.) 
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. 

 

Preferred Skills 

  • Strong interest in emerging tech, AI / Generative AI, Cable/Telecom, and business services industries  
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PPT & ChatGPT and other AI tools 
  • Introductory understanding of Finance, Accounting, and Business/Management concepts 
  • Excellent time management and communication skills  
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to think critically, even in ambiguous situations 
  • Ability to “present well” and interface with all levels of management 
  • Willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced environment 
  • Preferred Majors: Business/Finance majors are preferred; other majors are welcomed to apply 

 

Minimum Qualifications and Eligibility Requirements 

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree from Drexel University, with a cooperative learning track. 
  • Available to work 40 hours per week for 6 months starting September 22, 2025, through March 27, 2026. 
  • Authorized to work in the United States with no current or future sponsorship needs 
  • Available to report in-person to the work location on the job posting

Compensation

Base Pay: $27.00
