Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

Sony Corporation of America (SCA), is seeking a Sr Solution Architect of Data Technology to join the Digital Transformation (DX) group based in Culver City CA.

Corporate DX Office, under Sony Corporation of America, drives delivery of highly impactful program solutions worldwide, across different Sony Group Companies. We are looking for a highly qualified candidate to focus on digital transformation initiatives across various business groups of SONY.
 

Our DX Solution Design team under Data Technology builds data activation solution for a variety of Sony’s business domains by using the global data unification platform across Sony Group Companies, which seamlessly integrates our first-party data of different sources into data-driven DX business initiatives. The solutions leverage the power of advanced data analytics and artificial intelligence applications into content creation, customer engagement, digital marketing, and any other strategic business decision. Furthermore, the platform enables new innovative businesses as well as acceleration of the digital transformation of each respective Sony Group Companies.


In this role, you will imagine, define, and drive delivery and rollout of features, services or tools that help improve our platform and experiences across users of the Sony Group Companies such as data analysts, data scientists, digital marketers, and other users utilizing data for business as usual.

You will provide technical direction and solutions on DX solutions to the members of Corporate DX team such as product management, security and privacy so that they develop a deep understanding of the customers’ business and technical objectives. You will also provide direction and orchestration in the creation of programs that can adopt to potential customers based on your deep customer understanding.
 

You will work closely with a variety of members from Sony Group Companies to deeply understand their needs and use insights to prioritize and design features for the broader data exchange platform.


This position is a hybrid role requiring 2 days on-site in the Culver City Office.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES 
Your responsibilities will include: Solution Architect of Data Technology and Customer Engagement

  • Strategic Planning:

    • Collaborate with data business leadership to understand business goals and objectives.

    • Develop comprehensive data-driven business and technology roadmaps aligned with the organization's strategy.

    • Conduct technology assessments and identify opportunities for optimization and improvement.

  • Solution Design:

    • Design and architect scalable and flexible marketing technology solutions.

    • Select and integrate appropriate tools and platforms to meet specific marketing needs.

    • Develop detailed technical specifications and documentation.

  • Implementation:

    • Oversee the implementation of marketing technology solutions, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.

    • Collaborate with development teams and IT teams to ensure seamless integration with existing systems.

    • Provide technical guidance and support during implementation.

  • Data Management:

    • Develop data governance strategies to ensure data quality and integrity.

    • Design data architecture and workflows to support marketing analytics and reporting.

    • Implement data integration and synchronization processes.

  • Optimization and Maintenance:

    • Continuously monitor and optimize marketing technology performance.

    • Identify and resolve technical issues and performance bottlenecks.

    • Stay up-to-date with emerging marketing technology trends and best practices.

  • Team Leadership:

    • Mentor and guide junior team members in technical skills and problem-solving.

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive successful marketing initiatives.

    • Acts as a liaison between Sony Group Company representatives and the DX group, communicating appropriately and effectively with co-workers, clients, and supervisors, while maintaining awareness of project status and any potential delay, situation, or concern that may affect the outcome of the projects.

  • Customer Engagement:

    • Drives conversations with customers to demonstrate alignment between customer objectives and our product.

    • Synthesize customer feedback into product development insights and address unmet customer needs.

    • Collaborate with our Business Promotion team to understand and address customer pain points

QUALIFICATIONS FOR POSITION 

Your qualifications and experience should include:  

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Marketing, Data Science or a related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in marketing technology or a related field.

  • Strong understanding of marketing concepts and strategies.

  • In-depth knowledge of marketing automation platforms, CRM systems, content management systems, and analytics tools.

  • Proficiency in data management and integration techniques.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.


Additional/Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications in marketing technology and data architecture such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Snowflake, certified data architect

  • Experience with cloud-based marketing technology solutions.

  • Knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Python, SQL).

  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)

  • Experience with applying data science and machine learning concepts to businesses and daily operation OR risk detection engineering.

  • Experience in synthesizing complex or diverse project data and information.

The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $145,000 to $155,000. In addition to the annual base salary, this role has an annual bonus target of 17%. This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
