As a Staff Data Scientist, you'll lead the design, development, and scaling of advanced AI solutions that directly impact millions of shopping journeys while freeing our associates to focus more on serving members. What You Will Do
- Architect and lead the development of large-scale Computer Vision and Machine Learning systems powering member and associate experiences at Sam's Club
- Design innovative modeling approaches for object detection, item recognition, tracking, and visual anomaly detection in real-world retail environments
- Drive complex technical initiatives, setting the vision for model training, evaluation, deployment, monitoring, and continual improvement
- Collaborate closely with leaders in Product, Engineering, and Operations to shape the future roadmap for vision-based technologies
- Mentor and guide Data Scientists and Engineers to raise the level of technical excellence across the organization

- You bring deep expertise in Machine Learning and Computer Vision, especially in object detection, tracking, segmentation, or other real-world vision applications
- You have a strong track record of building and deploying production-grade ML systems at scale
- You are both a strategic thinker and a hands-on builder, able to set high-level architectural vision and dive deep into optimization when needed
- You thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments and enjoy turning complexity into clear action
- You have a passion for mentoring others, fostering learning, and creating a culture of technical excellence
- You care deeply about applying AI to create seamless, delightful real-world experiences for our members and associates

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00-$220,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
