WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT TO US

This is a unique opportunity to be part of our One Lake journey for our Data Platform in SimCorp, where we are currently transiting from MS Synapse to MS Fabric.

Your primary focus will be designing, building, and implementing a scalable and unified Data and Analytics Platform and extracting data from different sources, with other experienced colleagues in the Data & Analytics team, and with a unique opportunity to shape results.

A primary responsibility of the Data & Analytics team is supporting and enabling data-driven decision-making in SimCorp by delivering correct data for analytics and AI solutions.  

The Data & Analytics team comprises five members and is part of the Business Solutions department, with 38 colleagues. We are a diverse team with many nationalities, located around the world. We are working with Agile principles to organize our work and have adopted agile ceremonies to improve our working methods.

WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR 

We are looking for a detail-oriented colleague, who thrives in a busy and exciting environment. You will be in a critical role in building, transforming, and automating data solutions to deliver new business insights.

  • Data & Analytics Strategy Execution: Participate in executing our advance analytics strategy, including managing the data lake and integrating data from various internal and external sources
  • Technical Collaboration: Utilize your deep technical skills and extensive knowledge to collaborate with other data professionals in building a modern data platform architecture based on Microsoft Fabric
  • Data Observability: Establish monitoring and alert systems and early identification of issues within the data pipeline and its anomaly detection
  • Advanced Data Foundation: Contribute to advancing our data foundation by creating modeled and curated data sets, including data lineage
  • Strategic Initiatives: Engage in data platform strategic initiatives to define the right data flow architecture and deliver tangible results quickly
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Gather and supply data to the organization to support better data-driven decision making
  • CI/CD deployment lifecycle: Work with delivery through CI/CD workflow and deployment pipelines

WHAT WE VALUE

Most importantly, you can see yourself contributing and thriving in the position described above. How you gained the skills needed for doing that is less important. We expect you to be good at several of the following and be able to - and interested in - learning the rest:

  • A degree in Computer Science, Software engineering, Business Intelligence, Information Technology or similar
  • 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a Software engineering role with focus on data, including delivering production-ready lakehouse or data warehouse solutions at enterprise level
  • Experience in building and optimizing data pipelines, architecture, and data models
  • Experience with ADF, DBT, Data Lake, MS Fabric/Synapse, SQL, DataBricks, or Power BI
  • Experience with Data governance and Data catalog using tools such as Microsoft Purview
  • Experience in working with cloud providers, Microsoft Azure
  • Familiarity with cloud data platforms and tools and techniques for modelling (Star schema, etc.) and transforming data.
  • Experience with at least one of the following languages – Python, Scala, or Spark
  • Effective collaboration and teamwork skills, able to build relationships across levels and functions globally
  • Good communication skills, fluent in spoken and written English
  • Dedicated professional providing reliable and precise feedback and high-quality solutions on time
