Purpose of Role:

As the Technical Lead for Process Optimization for Minerals Digital, you'll lead a cross-functional team focused on developing AI-powered tools to recommend optimal equipment settings across multiple objectives, such as throughput, energy efficiency, and wear life. These tools will leverage differentiable, physics-informed models to provide interpretable, real-time recommendations for process control and optimization. 

To excel in this role, you need to be highly organized, technically fluent, and comfortable leading interdisciplinary teams. You should bring strong communication skills and a proactive mindset, ensuring collaboration across AI, software, and process engineering domains while keeping business goals and practical deployment in focus.

Key Responsibilities:
· Provide day-to-day technical leadership and direction for a team developing physics-based, differentiable AI models for multi-objective process optimization
· Own delivery of the optimization product roadmap—from prototype development to integration with industrial systems and customer environments
· Collaborate with stakeholders across Digital, Engineering, and Product teams to define optimization goals, deployment pathways, and success criteria
· Guide modelling efforts using frameworks such as JAX to support gradient-based search and real-time inference

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics or related field

• Experience in building and optimizing supervised and unsupervised machine learning models

• Experience in applying Machine Learning to physical systems

• Familiarity with scripting languages (JavaScript, Node.js, Python. Etc.).
