Position Overview
Apollo’s Thematic Investing team is a new function that centralizes market and investment perspectives across the firm. It delivers insights on major investment themes to senior leadership and investment teams, supports unified views of their impact on investment decisions, and strengthens internal connectivity through data and information sharing across investment teams. The team will also integrate data and technology into its approach to improve and streamline investment processes.
The Role
The Associate or Principal (depending on candidate experience) will play a pivotal role in building and refining Apollo’s overall investment theses by anchoring analytical depth and ensuring financial rigor in thematic development. This involves identifying key firm themes and priorities; conducting detailed research to synthesize findings; and effectively communicating cross-functional insights to leadership across the platform, ensuring alignment and coherence in investment decision-making.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead and develop core thematic research workstreams for all of Apollo’s investment verticals
- Build detailed and thorough valuation models and financial frameworks
- Draft investment theses and presentations that effectively communicate views on major emerging themes/risks, including corporate “insurgents”, technology trends, business cycles and geopolitics
- Tie secular and market themes to investment opportunities in public and private markets
- Manage and execute 3-6 research projects per year on long-term themes that can be leveraged for investment purposes or external content (e.g., AI disruption, Quantum Computing, Fusion, Renewable Energy)
- Identify and leverage data analytics and AI-based tools to promote efficiency across investment processes and as a proof of concept for broader firm adoption
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree from a top-tier accredited institution, ideally with majors in Economics, Statistics, Computer Science or similar
- Minimum 4 years of experience in investment banking or buy-side (private equity, private credit)
- Strong business acumen and industry research skills required
- Financial modeling and valuation proficiency
- Proven ability to lead research workstreams and coordinate inputs from cross-functional teams
- Strong analytical skills and experience identifying and distilling key themes and trends
- Quantitative and/or statistical skills and hands-on Python experience highly desired
- Background in computer science/technology, particularly exposure to AI tools
- Effective and articulate communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Demonstrated ability to effectively interface directly with senior leaders
- Exceptional presentation drafting experience

Pay Range
$200,000 - $300,000 DOEApollo Global Management, Inc. (together with its subsidiaries and affiliates) is committed to championing opportunity.

The base salary range for this position is listed above. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus based on personal, team, and Firm performance. Compensation ranges are based on several factors including job function, level, and geographic location. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed here.
