Data Science Internship

As a Data Science Intern, you will work closely with our team of experienced data scientists to develop and implement data-driven solutions that drive business growth and innovation.

During your internship, you will have the opportunity to:

• Work with stakeholders throughout the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging company data to drive business solutions.

• Select features, building and optimizing classifiers using machine learning techniques

• Mine and analyze data from client databases to drive optimization and improvement of product development, marketing techniques and business strategies.

• Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques.

• Process, clean, and verify the integrity of data used for analysis

• Perform ad-hoc analysis and present results in a clear manner

Requirements

• Finished at least their 3rd year in college.

• Experience working with Python and/or R. Knowledge of object-oriented programming concepts is expected.

• Have done at least some basic machine learning before (e.g. decision trees, support vector machines, random forests, etc.).

• Must have worked with (relational) databases before and preferably have taken at least an introductory databases course.

• Must have done some kind of data analysis before and expect to do a lot of it in the internship (searching for patterns in data, producing aggregate statistics, etc.).

• Experience with numpy/pandas/matplotlib in Python or with dplyr/tidyr/ggplot in R is very preferred.

• Must have taken an introductory course in probability.

• Have a github portfolio showing your experience with any/all of the above
