Our Online Payment Gateway is part of Paytm’s regulated B2B ecosystem (authorized under RBI’s PA/PG framework) and is central to how we support Indian commerce in its digital transformation. The Data Analytics team is a key enabler of this mission, powering smarter decisions across merchant acquisition, product development, risk, and growth strategy.
About the Team:The Data Analytics team supports every major business function—from sales and product to finance and compliance—by delivering actionable insights, building scalable reporting systems, and identifying opportunities for optimization and innovation. We work closely with product, engineering, and business teams to help shape and guide our data-driven culture.
About the Role:The incumbent will be responsible for generating insights, creating dashboards, and supporting strategic decision-making across the online payments business. You will play a pivotal role in shaping our product strategy, merchant growth plans, and operational efficiency through data storytelling and analysis.
Expectations/ Requirements:Own and manage reporting dashboards across key business functions (Sales, Operations, Product).Identify trends, anomalies, and patterns to support business strategies and identify growth opportunities.Build and maintain pipelines using SQL and work with large datasets.Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Sales, Product, Risk, Finance) to design analytical solutions for business problems.Translate business questions into structured analysis and present findings in a clear and concise manner.Develop automated reporting systems and self-service analytics tools using BI platforms like Power BI/Tableau/Looker.Conduct deep-dive analyses on customer behavior, transaction patterns, and conversion funnels.Ensure data accuracy and integrity in all deliverables.Contribute to experimentation design (A/B testing) and measure impact of product features or campaign changes.
Superpowers/ Skills That Will Help You Succeed in This Role:Experience Level: 2–6 Years in Business/Data Analytics, preferably in fintech/e-commerce/technology.Advanced proficiency in SQL, Excel, and at least one data visualization tool (Tableau, Power BI, Looker, etc.).Familiarity with Python or R for data analysis (preferred but not mandatory).Strong business acumen with the ability to link data to real-world decisions.Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple stakeholders.Prior exposure to payment, lending, or SaaS analytics is a strong plus.
Educational Qualifications:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or a related field.
